The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA) is a Skills Development Authority serving the Energy and Water sectors. Purpose of the Role
Establish and maintain an effective and efficient supply chain management system within the EWSETA, lead the organization’s asset management system and manage the coordination of staff and manager travel and accommodation, by:
  1. Managing and maintaining a compliant, effective and efficient supply chain management function within the EWSETA.
  2. Providing operational leadership in respect of EWSETA’s asset management system.
  3. Managing the coordination of staff and manager travel and accommodation.
  4. Managing facilities.
  5. Managing the EWSETA fleet.
  6. Performing all tasks related to the purpose of this role, as required and delegated.

PROJECT MANAGER 
 
Manage the implementation, monitoring and contract management of projects as approved, through collaboration with all relevant functions in the organisation to ensure the successful commencement and completions of projects. Establish and maintain the optimal provincial representation of the EWSETA to allow the effective implementation of projects and serve as a contact point for stakeholders in the provinces. Increase the uptake of careers in the energy and water sectors.
 
 Purpose of the Role
The Project Manager has the following focus areas:
  1. Establishing, developing, implementing and controlling best practices for the delivery of skills
    development projects by:
     defining and documenting all policies and processes of the project lifecycle to deliver projects according to plan and within budget.
     Monitoring projects using various tools such as project Gantt Charts.
     Setting up fit-for-purpose Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and overseeing their implementation.
  2. Overseeing the coordination of multiple skills delivery projects thereby ensuring that timing, risks, issues, resource requirements, etc. are dynamically managed across all projects.
  3. Pro-actively monitoring and reporting on projects regionally, per sector and other requirements.
  4. Ensuring close liaison with and effective and aligned service delivery to stakeholders, beneficiaries, and partners through effective EWSETA presence in all nine (9) South African provinces.
  5. Managing career exhibitions and advisory services so that current and potential beneficiaries are knowledgeable about the careers, skills development and funding opportunities within the energy and water sectors.
  6. Managing specific contributions to various government department’s national priority skills projects (e.g. the Department of Science and Innovation, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy), for example: Funding for Undergraduate, Honours, Master’s and Doctoral programmes in renewable energy, and hydrogen economy skills; Provision of experiential learning to ensure that students can complete National Diplomas; Provision of funding for TVET students in renewable energy; Provision of experiential learning at research labs, in the work environment and through the national roll-out of technology; Provision of experiential learning for UoT and TVET graduates in the fuel cell sector.
  7. Supporting the Energy and – Water Sector Managers in building and strengthening stakeholder relations in the provinces through effective customer service and operational excellence.
  8.  Providing project advisory services for skills development projects that are initiated by the Energy and Water sectors in the provinces through effective customer service.
  9. Managing support to the Quality Assurance function.
  10.  Submitting verified documentation to the Project Finance function to ensure timely and accurate payments relating to projects.
  11. Managing the Projects function effectively.
  12. Performing all tasks related to the purpose of this role, as required and delegated.

FINANCIAL MANAGER
 
To implement the EWSETA’s financial strategy and operations by providing oversight and guidance in the execution of financial activities at the EWSETA by managing working capital, assets and liabilities, managing expenditure and revenue which comply with internal and external compliance requirements.
 
 Purpose of the Role
The Financial Manager has the following focus areas:
  1. Maintaining and implementing effective and efficient management control systems to ensure sound financial management within the EWSETA.
  2. Overseeing the execution of the full accounting cycle at the EWSETA.
  3. Ensure compliance with the organisational accounting systems, policies and procedures.
  4. Ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and credit management.
  5. Maintaining complete and proper records of income, expenditure, and liabilities and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  6. Managing EWSETA investments.
  7. Overseeing payroll processes and transactions.
  8. Managing mandatory- and discretionary grant payments.
  9. Managing project finance effectively and efficiently.
  10. Ensuring the delivery of an effective management accounting service to the EWSETA.

COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING MANAGER
 
To manage the provision of strategic communication, public relations, events management and marketing services that promote the EWSETA profile, promote optimum visibility, create awareness of the EWSETA as a thought leader and preferred business partner and effectively position the SETA in the sector and broader community as an Authority
 
Purpose of the Role
The Communications and Marketing Manager has the following focus areas:
  1. Coordinating, developing and leading the implementation of a stakeholder engagement strategy and strategic communications plan that effectively position and promote the EWSETA as the skills development authority within the sector.
  2. . Developing communication and marketing content emphasising the EWSETA as a thought leader and preferred business partner.
  3. Planning, implementing and coordinating strategic communication initiatives, advertising campaigns and marketing events thereby promoting and enhancing stakeholder engagement and participation rates.
  4. Developing a “business partner” approach with and identifying the marketing and strategic communication needs of internal stakeholders and ensuring the production of such within the established CI and Communication guidelines.
  5. Maintain the CI Manual of the organisation and ensure all CI templates are standardized and disseminated for use across the organisation to enhance the professional image of EWSETA.
  6. Develop department business processes and service delivery charter aligned to the new operating model and ensure implementation.
  7. . Coordinating and activating procedures and protocols for dealing with adverse situations impacting on the EWSETA’s public profile.
  8. Managing the design, development and updating of digital platforms.
  9. Creation and dissemination of internal communication.
  10. Development and co-management of the EWSETA Employee Engagement Strategy with HR, to support the adoption of a high-performance culture within the organisation.
  11. Developing the annual report, integrated reports and other publications in accordance with legislative frameworks where applicable.
  12. Establishing and maintaining a Records Management System for the department in line with all legislative frameworks.

ENTERPRISE RISK AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER 
 
The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA) is a Skills Development Authority serving the Energy and Water sectors. The EWSETA invites suitable candidates to apply for the Enterprise Risk and Compliance Manager to safeguard the organisation and the interests of stakeholders by guiding, facilitating and assisting the EWSETA and the Audit and Risk Committee to manage and monitor compliance to frameworks, policies, processes, procedures and identifying and managing risks related to/impacting on the achievement of EWSETA objectives and its mandate.
 
 Purpose of the Role
  • The implementation of an effective enterprise risk management framework and system.
  • Creating a risk and compliance culture by identifying weaknesses in systems and processes and embedding compliance principles and practices into existing systems, services, and processes.
  • Ensuring that the EWSETA is conducting its business in full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal policies and standards by performing compliance reviews at regular intervals, coordinating audits and monitoring the implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Managing and maintaining the EWSETA’s policy system, ensuring the review and updating of existing policies and the compilation of new policies.
