KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Conduct quality assurance of all audit work performed by the audit team monitoring compliance with IIA Standards
• Conduct regular audit support needs analysis to evaluate the adequacy & effectiveness of the internal controls
• Compile payment documents of Performance Audit Committee (PAC) remuneration within 30 days after the special / quarterly meeting
• Manage the audit procedures to assess the functionality and effectiveness of the
Performance Management System (PMS) of the municipality
• Develop a risk register of the Internal Audit Activity
• Evaluate the effectiveness of Risk Management process and procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of the risk management of the municipality
• Review the Annual Financial Statements (AFS) of the municipality before submission to the
• Review the Annual Financial Statements (AFS) of the municipality before submission to the Auditor-General (AG) and external auditors
• Analyzing Financial Statements and commenting to the immediate superior on the credibility of the report with respect to the financial position of the Municipality and compliance with applicable Acts.
• Perusing through contractual agreements and assesses compliance with laid down financial and procurement policies.
• Analyzing accounting recordings and reconciliation sequences related to revenue and expenditure transactional activities against policy and procedures.
• Evaluating the adequacy and capability of internal controls to identify with deviations from guidelines and procedures.
• Assessing the validity of performance and costing systems and checking accuracy in specific applications (project costing, etc.).
• Preparing comments and opinions on observations of specific processes, procedures,
controls, and systems.
• Receive Audit Committee reports and analyze the scope and nature of the investigation as it requires special skills and expertise (process of outsourcing investigations or forensics)
• Formulate and check the validity of the methodology using sample audits
• Coordinate the Conducting of investigations and implement procedure by analysing records and paper trails, conducting interviews and, testing and/ or verifying information and data
• Assist in ensuring that the investigation has Prepared comments, opinions, and conclusions in respect of the investigation and findings

• Performs specific tasks associated with the operations of heavy and / or specialized vehicles and equipment (Crane Trucks; etc.) during electrical installation, repair and maintenance activities
• Providing guidelines and specific instructions to personnel with respect to the storage of materials, equipment and / or hitching of trailers and checking and correcting any deviations from safety procedures
• Monitoring and attending to deviations in the construction and installation sequences of poles, cross waves, stays, lines, aerial transformers, switchgear, etc
• Terminating cables, wires etc. to junction boxes, connecting blocks and / or terminals including soldering, fitting of lug and harnessing wires
• Inspecting works prior to commissioning and communicating with the control room / immediate superior with regards to tests and functionality of the installation.
• Confirming through tests and communication with the control room all live conductors are disconnected in premises housing switchgear and transformers prior to permitting support personnel to enter and commence with maintenance activities in such premises 
• Undertake activities relating to the maintenance and inspections of electrical metering infrastructure.
• Isolating, removing and replacing defective components and / or attending to the stripping, cleaning and jointing of overhead and underground cables and lines with due consideration given to safety procedures in live environments.
