Educational Requirements
  • A National Senior Certificate (Matric);
  • National Diploma / Degree in Education;
  • TVET Education Lecturing Qualification.
 
Minimum Requirements
  • A minimum of zero to one (0-1) year's experience in the TVET Sector;
  • Registered with South African Council for Educators (SACE) will be an added advantage;
  • Moderator and Assessor certificate will be an added advantage;
  • Driver's licence will be an added advantage.
 
Post Description
  • English L2 – L4.
 
Duties
  • Engage in Learning/facilitation as per workload;
  • Assess and record the Performance of students;
  • Manage a Learning program, develop policy for the Program;
  • Provide guidance on the latest Developments on approaches to the Program.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS X 4 STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR EWC TVET COLLEGE CENTRE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND RAPID INCUBATOR

Salary: None - Voluntary Position.
 
Ekurhuleni TVET College hereby invites nominations of suitable and qualified individual to be part of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Rabid incubator (CFERI) Advisory Committee. EWC CFERI is in partnership with the Department of Higher Education and Training and the Department of Small Business Development and implemented by Small Enterprise Development Finance Agency (SEDFA). The purpose of the Centre is to develop and grow self-sustainable innovative entrepreneurs who will make a meaningful contribution to the economy of the district and ultimately the country.
 
Qualifications for Membership
Nominated candidates should have vast knowledge as well as competency in one of the following disciplines:
  • Manufacturing;
  • Engineering;
  • ICT;
 
And in at least two of the following disciplines:
  • Enterprise Development;
  • Entrepreneurship;
  • Accounting Project Financing;
  • Business Administration;
  • Legal (regulatory, licensing and permits, compliance, contract law);
  • Enterprise Risk Management;
  • Fundraising;
  • Corporate Governance;
  • Human Resource Management;
  • Export Development;
  • International or Foreign standardization.
 
Furthermore, the individual:
  • Should not be an office bearer of any party, movement, organization or body of a partisan political nature, personally or through a spouse, partner or associate or have or acquire an interest in a business or enterprise which may conflict or interfere with the proper performance of the duties of a member of the Board.
  • Should not be a rehabilitated insolvent or becomes insolvent or has ever been, or is removed from an office of trust on account of misconduct in respect of fraud or the misappropriation of money.
  • Should not be subject to an order of a competent court holding that person to be mentally unfit or disordered.
  • Should not have within the previous 10 years been convicted of theft, fraud, forgery, or uttering a forged document, perjury or any other offence committed after 1994 and sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine.
Academic Institutions and Science Councils are encouraged to nominate a representative to the board.
 
Remuneration of the Committee Members:
This is a voluntary position and as such, there is no remuneration for committee members. However, the Centre will reimburse members the total cost for sustenance and travelling in line with Ekurhuleni West TVET College policy
.
Meetings
The advisory committee will meet four times a year (every quarter) in person or virtually (during restrictions) but may convene for additional meetings at the request of the Centre Management.
 
Duration
  • Three Years (2025 - 2028).
 
Nomination procedure
Nominations must be submitted in writing and must at least contain a detailed Curriculum Vitae, motivation for appointment, certified copy of identity document and qualifications.
Background verification, including criminal record and citizenship checks, will form part of the selection process.
Preference will be given to candidates whose appointment will enhance representatively (sectors, race, gender, age, locality) and EE requirements.
Appointments will also be made in line with CFERI Steering Committee Terms of Reference as well as CFERI government framework.
Ekurhuleni TVET College CFERI reserves the right not to appoint.
Centre sponsors/partners are encouraged to submit nominations.
