POPULATION AND RESEARCH INTERNSHIP (8)
STIPEND: R60 000 per annum

Minimum Requirements: Grade 12/ Senior Certificate plus a B Degree in Social Science Applicants to have done courses on population studies and demography towards obtaining their degrees. Experience in undertaking a research project at under graduate or post graduate level is required.
Key Performance Areas: Assist with data collection and basic analysis of data. Develop basic demographic profiles for districts. Collate and analyze statistical information for the district. Contribute to the determination of trends in service delivery. Support the district with research information. Compile research needs for district. Provide logistical support for the dissemination of research information within the district including communities.
Provide logistical support for the implementation of population capacity development programmes in districts. Provide elementary support with the monitoring of population programmes.
STRATEGIC PLANNING INTERNSHIP (8)

Competencies: Knowledge and understanding of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Public Service Act, LRA, BCEA, Public Service Regulations and relevant Government Regulations and Policies. Sound knowledge of Human Resource Policies, Strategies and related matters. Knowledge of PMDS. Knowledge of Budgeting Processes in the Government, ability to work extended hours. Strategic capability, analytical and negotiation skills. Knowledge of disciplinary procedure and code and relevant legislation, Good written and oral communication skills, customer care, people management, change management, coordination and planning. Strong planning skills, sound interpersonal and conflict management skills.
Key Performance Areas: Provide support to programmes on the alignment of national, provincial and sector priorities and linkage of government outcomes to strategic goals. Analyze the information submitted and ensure alignment to provincial priorities. Consolidate the APP and Operational Plans submitted by Programmes. Assist in the facilitation of Strategic Sessions with the directorate and branches and incorporate inputs into consolidated strategic plans. Alignment of District Operational Plans with the budget allocation. Coordinate policy development matters within the district. Assist in validation, analysis, evidence collection and dissemination of performance information. Analysis and quality checking of the collated district reports. Assist in coordination of district quarterly performance review sessions. Physically visit the projects as per approved Departmental reports and validate if the achievements were carried out. Facilitate submission of evidence by District programmes. Analysis of evidence by Programs for all the achieved outputs.
