Minimum requirements

Duties:
  • Operation of Departments: Hydraulic machines / Lathe machine/ Automated Factory Programmable Manufacturing cell/ Machines and supporting students’ training and practical activities on the same.
  • The successful candidate would be required to serve at all levels in the qualifications offered in the Department in the designated
  • The successful candidate is required to serve both undergrad and post-graduate students and is actively involved in supporting both Research and Entrepreneurial activities in the department. 
  • Assist with administrative duties such as venue set-up for seminars, lectures, activities and actively involved in the development of our laboratories, with state-of-the-art facilities and carry out other duties as prescribed by the Head of Department or Representative.
  • Serves under the guidance of the Senior Technician or assigned supervisor to discharge assigned duties, including providing oversight of the assigned laboratory facilities in the
  • Ensures that laboratories under management control are maintained in a fully functional state and safe working condition to facilitate a disciplined and efficient execution of students’ practical activities and projects.
  • Assists academic staff in regularly assessing students' performance through practical assessments 
  • Provide resources and technical support to students for their practical activities and projects. 
  • Serve as an Invigilator for examinations and Tests under the Chief Invigilator. 
  • Carry out maintenance of laboratory equipment, including repair and changing of components. 
  • Maintain an Inventory of all laboratory equipment and control the issuing of equipment and consumable stock usage, while updating the stock registry of consumables and equipment. 
  • Undertake fault-finding and troubleshooting tasks on Departmental hardware facilities and software tools.
  • Monitor consumables and equipment stock, and coordinate the purchase of both consumables and capital items.
  • Other such duties as may be assigned by the Senior Technician, Head of Department, or Representative, as delegated.

  • An Honours or B Tech in engineering or an associated field.
  • 5 years’ practical industry experience in the field of professional outside broadcast as a technician

  • A relevant Doctoral Degree in Accounting or a related field, with an undergraduate specialisation in Management Accounting.
  • At least 3 years of university teaching experience in Management Accounting or Financial Management.
Additional Requirement:
  • Traceable evidence of research publications in ISI/DHET or SAPSE-related journals
  • Experience of supervision of Masters or Doctoral students.
  • Experience in developing new programme offerings and willing to participate in curriculum development.
  • Registration with an accounting professional body will be an added advantage. Most importantly American Institute of Certified Public Accountants – Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (AICPA-CIMA).
 
Summary of Duties:

The Department of Fashion and Textiles invites applications for a Lecturer position. Minimum Requirements:

Additional requirements
  • Ability to lecture both theory and practical modules in Fashion Design.
  • Specific strengths in Pattern and Garment Technology, with expertise in Lingerie, Corsetry, Men’s and Ladies’ Casual Wear.
  • Competence in Learning Management Systems for online teaching and learning.
