Durban ICC SOC (Ltd) is the managing company for the Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC Complex, which includes the International Convention Centre Durban (ICC), the ICC Exhibition Centre and the ICC Arena. FOREMAN (TG 11)
MIN R360 429.02 – MAX R607 119.23 PER ANNUM (TOTAL COST TO COMPANY)

The organisation is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Foreman. The Foreman will be required to support to the Durban ICC employees and contractors through efficient task coordination, facility management techniques and evaluation to the Durban ICC Complex, Arena and the Exhibition Centre.
The incumbent will report to the Facilities & Infrastructure Executive.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
Minimum Qualifications
Grade 12.
Five (05) to ten (10) years’ relevant facility maintenance experience.
Four (04 years’ experience at a supervisory level is desirable.
Successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre- employment medical examination as part of the hiring process.
Knowledge and Attributes
Knowledge of facilities and methods of electrical, plumbing and building installations and maintenance.
Knowledge of fire and building codes as well as fire/safety system requirements.

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE
Ensure that supplier site inspection is conducted timeously.
Oversee that all ISO NCR’s are closed off as soon as possible.
Manage compliance with the ISO systems while performing work.
Oversee substations and ensure that they are maintained and kept locked at all times.
Initiate and administer procurement of equipment and repairs and maintenance supplies.
Initiate capital projects in line with infrastructure and asset maintenance plan.
Draw up specifications for approved projects.
Conduct site inspections for approved projects.
Ensure that all Capital Projects are carried out on time and in line with occupational health and safety standards.
Managing time keeping and work output of all contractors that are assigned to Capital Expenditure projects.
Liaise with service providers to ensure the delivery of timeous and quality work at the Durban ICC.
Allocate planned maintenance tasks and repairs to the maintenance team and contractors.
Ensure that contractors work safely and have been inducted on the Durban ICC operating standards.
Ensure that the best operating practice is followed when conducting installation, maintenance and repair work at the Durban ICC.
Oversee and manage asset allocation, maintenance and safe-keeping.
Prioritise and assign work objectives and provide guidance to staff.
People management and development.

PLUMBER (TG 10)
MIN: R305 088,42 MAX R506 773,86 PER ANNUM

The organisation is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Plumber.
The Plumber will be required to render an effective plumbing service to the Durban ICC Complex including the ICC, Arena and Durban Exhibition Centre.
The incumbent will report to the Facilities Foreman or appointed representative.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
Minimum Qualifications
Matric (NQF Level 4)
National Certificate Vocational (NQF Level 4)
Trade Test Certificate
Successful candidate will be required to under go a pre- employment medical examination as part of the hiring process.
Minimum Experience
Minimum 6- 8 years’ experience in the plumbing field
Familiarity and technical understanding of tap/copper pipe repairs
Experience with sewer/waste repairs.
KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE
Ensure all installation, maintenance, and repair work is carried out using Best Operating Practices (BOP);
Ensure compliance with all relevant plumbing and electrical laws, bylaws, and legal standards and regulations during installations and maintenance;
Conduct site inspections and develop specifications for approved projects as part of capital projects in line with the infrastructure and asset maintenance plan;
Draw up specifications for approved projects;
Conduct and supervise Planned Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance tasks as assigned by the Foreman;
Undertake the maintenance and repair of sewer lines, sump pumps, and ablution facilities;
Inspect and verify the safety and usability of plumbing equipment that clients may come into contact with;
Log, complete, close, and file all job cards accurately and timeously;
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including all workshops, storerooms, and substations;
Ensure substations are kept locked and only authorised personnel are granted access;
Perform all work neatly, professionally, and to the 5-star standards of the Durban ICC;
Supervise and allocate work to maintenance assistants and apprentices;
Ensure all supervised personnel behave professionally and comply with Durban ICC policies, procedures, and rules;
Ensure all ISO Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) are closed off promptly;
Adhere to ISO procedures and safety protocols during all work activities;
Participate in ISO audits, safety inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives;
Leave all work areas clean and safe upon task completion to maintain a professional image and ensure client satisfaction;
