Joburg City Theatres is contributing towards skills development by providing recent graduates an opportunity to intern at Joburg City Theatres. The Company is providing opportunities to gain work experience in the theatre environment. Minimum requirements: 

·       Grade 12 

·       Qualification/s: Digital Marketing,/ Communications or Social Media Marketing. 

 

Key learning areas/ Responsibilities. 

·       Assisting in the development of fresh, innovative ideas for stage productions. 

·       Supporting creative meetings and brainstorming sessions. 

·       Attending rehearsals and meetings to understand how creative decisions are implemented. 

·       Helping ensure that creative outputs meet high standards and resonate with audiences. 

·       Develop social media content plans and do compelling content for social media. 

·       Researching trends, audience preferences, and creative techniques to inform ideas. 

·       Observing and learning from the Creative Team during key production phases. 

·       Capture behind-the-scenes moments, rehearsals, and live performances. 

·       Contribute fresh, imaginative ideas for promoting shows and engaging audiences. 

·       Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a professional and friendly manner. 

·       Interact with followers to build a sense of community and excitement around productions Creative & Visual Skills. 

·       Basic graphic design (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) for creating visually appealing posts. 

·       Photography and videography skills to capture rehearsals, backstage moments, and performances. 

·       Storytelling ability to craft engaging narratives around productions, cast, and crew. 

 

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY: 

All applicants must be between the ages of 18 -35 years and be a South Africa citizen. Students who need Experiential Training. Studied at a recognized institution of higher learning in the Republic of South Africa. 

Successful candidates will be appointed on a 12-month internship contract. An all-inclusive monthly stipend of R 6094.25 will be paid.

DUTY MANAGER (TG10)

The organisation is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the Duty Manager. 

The Duty Manager is required to co-ordinate, control and apply procedures associated with the monitoring and maintenance of facilities and equipment, quality of service and efficiency of operations. 

The incumbent will report to the Operations Manager. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES 

Minimum Qualifications 

 A relevant tertiary qualification in Operations Management/Business Administration or equivalent qualification is essential 

 A minimum of four (04) years’ relevant operational and facilities experience in events industry 

 3 years’ experience at a supervisory level is desirable

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE 

 Meet with Clients and Durban ICC Function Supervisors ahead of the event to discuss service delivery objectives 

 Actively monitor the preparation and organization of venues and outline critical performance indicators and service level standards; 

 Conduct venue layouts in accordance with floor plans ahead of deadlines; 

 Receive and review the branding plan from clients and in order to install all branding as required; 

 Review and approve Durban ICC and DEC floor plans; 

 Conduct site inspections of front of house and back of house areas to ensure that venues are in good working order; 

 Oversee the conditions of all meeting rooms, hospitality suites, venues and ensure that all are in good condition and set up done accordingly 

 Identify potential hazards, maintenance needs, in liaison with respective departments; 

 Maintain a monthly inspection calendar with checklist aligned to Durban ICC standards; 

 Ensure all equipment and facilities meet required safety, hygiene and performance standards; 

 Implement a preventive maintenance schedule and track compliance with ICC benchmarks; 

 Ensure all operations adhere to internal policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations; 

 Conducts quarterly compliance audits and maintain updated records of regulatory changes; 

 Attend to service quality checklist and gather client feedback after each event; 

 Regularly review process to identify gaps and ensure corrective actions are taken; 

 Provide staff with ongoing training on compliance requirements and ICC standards; 

 Maintain clear records of inspections, reports, and corrective measures for accountability; 

 Use feedback and audit results to refine processes and elevate service delivery; 

 Provide guidance, support development and motivate team, while ensuring performance a balanced approach with organisational goals; 

 Regularly update administrative processes to align with Durban ICC standards.
