Durban ICC SOC (Ltd) is the managing company for the Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC Complex, which includes the International Convention Centre Durban (ICC), the ICC Exhibition Centre and the ICC Arena. The Durban ICC is one of the most advanced conference facilities in the world, having been voted Africa’s Leading Conference Centre by World Travel Awards for 18 years. 

 

 

 

POSITION – STORES SUPERVISOR (TG 09) 

MIN: R271 576.09 – MAX R487 478.21 PER ANNUM (TOTAL COST TO COMPANY) 

INTERNAL / EXTERNAL 

 

The organisation is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Stores Supervisor. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and controlling all activities within the Stores, including the receiving, storage, and issuing of stock for functions through a requisition process in the Finance Department within Durban ICC. The incumbent will report directly to the Cost and Asset Accountant. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 

 Matric (Grade 12) 

 Tertiary Education (Diploma/ Certificate) related to hospitality / service industry. 

 Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within the hospitality industry/ convention centre environment.

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE 

 Stock planning for the upcoming events and plan ahead to meet specific functions requirements. 

 Controls the stock par levels of all equipment / consumables for the department. 

 Communicate with the Operations Section and identify quantities and product types to be ordered. 

 Supervise outsourced storeroom staff before, during and after events. 

 Participate in pre shift and forward planning meetings. 

 Control issuing of crockery / glass and linen. 

 Conduct monthly stock take for all stores and report back any loss, damages and shrinkages. 

 Monitor the storage and shelving of equipment for all stores to ensure tidiness and safety. 

 Prepare quarterly stock reports for all stores. 

 Ensure compliance with Durban ICC ISO procedures. 

 Perform and control any duties associated with and relating to stores supervision as required. 

 Maintain filling system of stores documentation. 

 Control and investigate all equipment used and missing.
