BUDGET AND TREASURY OFFICE
Position: MANAGER ASSETS AND REVENUE
Remuneration: R504 907.80 P.A Plus Normal Municipal Benefits
 
 
REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12
• B.Com degree in Accounting/Financial Management or Auditing.
• A post graduate degree in Accounting will be an added advantage.
• Valid code 08 driver's license.
• A minimum of five (05) years' experience in Municipal Finance Management of which two (02) years should be at Supervisory Level.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards.
• Good understanding and interpretation of Municipal Finance Management Act, Municipal Systems Act, Municipal Property Rates Act and any other relevant legislation.
 
KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:
The successful candidates will be performing the following duties:
• Ensure compliance with Council's Assets & Inventory management policies.
• Review Assets & Inventory policies annually and align them to GRAP
requirements.
• Regularly report to Deputy CFO on all issues affecting fixed assets determination, utilization, replacement & procurement.
• At least annually perform Assets and Inventory stock taking or verification process and compile reports thereafter of assets & inventories to be written off.
• Perform Impairment and assessment of useful lives of assets in line with GRAP standards at least annually.
• Ensure that general ledger &fixed assets register always balance.
• Ensure proper administration of both Assets & Inventories.
• Attend to all issues raised by office of the Auditor General that relate to assets and inventory.
• Manage Revenue Division according to Council policies, By-laws and legislation and collect all revenue due to the municipality.
• Compile monthly financial reports to Council.
• Supervise monthly reconciliation of assessment rates, Revenue and Debtors Votes.
• Supervise printing & distribution of accounts and authorize clearance certificates.
• Supervise implementation of MPRA
