STATE LAW ADVISER LP7 REF NO: 18/59/LD (X2 POSTS) 
12 Months Contract Appointment 
SALARY : R725 487 – R781 551 (All inclusive Remuneration Package). (Salary will be in accordance with OSD determination). The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement. 
CENTRE : South African Law Reform Commission: Centurion 
 
REQUIREMENTS: LLB or 4 year recognized legal qualification; At least 5 years’ appropriate post qualification litigation/advisory experience; Admission as an Advocate or Attorney; Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Legal Practice Act; Experience in Procedural Law and Taxation of Bills of Costs will be an added advantage; A valid driver’s licence; Skills and Competencies: Legal Research and drafting skills; Advance research skills; Problem solving and decision making skills; Communication skills (written and verbal); Computer literacy; Policy formulation skills; Project management skills; Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 
 
DUTIES : Plan and do research, including comparative legal research, in respect of the law of South Africa; Conduct extensive consultation with stakeholders with a view to obtain input and comment on draft research papers; Make proposals for the development, improvement and modernization of the South African law; Develop recommendations and draft legislation for law reform; Prepare issue papers, discussion papers and reports that contain research, recommendations and draft legislation for law reform; Conduct Socio Economic Impact Assessments on research and legislative proposals; Perform administrative and other duties related to the work SA Law Reform Commission.
