BURSARY OPPORTUNITY FOR 2020 ACADEMIC YEAR
 
As part of youth development, the Department of Correctional Services invites youth (18-35) who are eligible to study at the registered higher learning institutions in the following fields of study.
 
 
FIELD OF STUDY: Painter/ Welder/ Boiler Maker/ Locksmith/ Automotive Motor Mechanic
QUALIFICATION: Artisans
 
FIELD OF STUDY:  Human Resource Management
QUALIFICATION: Degree/ National Diploma
 
FIELD OF STUDY:  Psychology
QUALIFICATION: Masters
 
FIELD OF STUDY:  Criminology
QUALIFICATION: Degree / Honours Degree / National Diploma
 
FIELD OF STUDY:  Agriculture
QUALIFICATION: Degree/ National Diploma
 
FIELD OF STUDY: Food Services
QUALIFICATION: National Diploma
 
FIELD OF STUDY: Security Management
QUALIFICATION: National Diploma
 
 
FIELD OF STUDY: Finance & Logistics
QUALIFICATION: National Diploma / Degree
 
FIELD OF STUDY:  Penology / Correctional Services
QUALIFICATION: National Diploma / Degree


BURSARY REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates applying for the bursary must adhere to the following:
• Be a South African citizen
• Hold a valid South African ID document
• Have Grade 12/NCV certificate at NQF level 4
• Provide proof of acceptance from a registered learning institution
 
DOCUMENTATION TO BE CERTIFIED AND ATTACHED TO THE APPLICATION:
• Candidates valid ID document
• Candidate's academic record
• Grade 12 /NCV certificates at NOF level 4
• Acceptance letter from a learning institution
• Course curriculum and Course fee

Applicants must be prepared to enter into an agreement with the Department of Correctional Services. Applicants must complete an Application Form, obtainable from the Department's website: www.dcs.gov.za or at any regional office of Correctional Services on the addresses below:

• Please note the following:
  • Application forms will under no circumstances be posted or faxed to the applicant.
  • Certification of copies should not be older than three months.
  • Completed application forms must be hand-delivered / posted (not registered mail please) to the above-mentioned offices no later than the 06 September 2019 by 15:45.
• Incomplete, faxed and emailed application forms will not be considered.
• Students already receiving bursary funding from other public / private institutions will not be considered for a bursary.
• Correspondence will only be limited to successful candidates.
