Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSSETA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) established under the Skills Development Act (No 97 of 1998). Cathsseta has the following position available. 
 
ERRATUM - Manager: Office of the CEO 
Ref: CATHS18/2021 – HEAD OFFICE. 
Salary R755, 844.13 Cost to Company per annum. 
 
 
Job Purpose: To support and complement the Chief Executive Officer in developing, executing, and managing the Organisations' activities, emphasizing the day-to-day operations. The person will also be responsible for ensuring smooth cross-departmental collaboration activities.
 
Requirements: A degree in Business Management/ Public Administration/ Education or equivalent. An Honours degree in Business Management or Project Management will be an advantage. 4-6 years experience in the public sector environment. 3-4 years experience as an office manager or strategic support. 3 years experience in SETA environment is advantageous.

Job Responsibilities: Develop and manage the operational plan for the office of the CEO and ensure implementation and monitoring thereof. Improve productivity within the department and align business activities with strategic and operational plans. Managing the operational plans of the business unit and ensure implementation and monitoring thereof. Improve productivity within business unit and align business activities with strategic and operational plans. Prepare operational reports on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer. Ensure smooth processes and procedures to drive cross functional team collaborations. Assist the Chief Executive Officer in monitoring and reporting on departmental team KPIs. Lead any other ad hoc special departmental initiatives as may be allocated from time to time. Optimise the achievement of service delivery through strategic support. Driving operational efficiency in the project management activities within the Office of the CEO. Ensure that a register off all projects being implemented in the SETA is kept and progress reports received from the Departments. Coordination of risks related to the projects that are implemented within the Office of the CEO. Ensure that all operational projects implemented within the SETA are submitted for approval to the MANEXCO. Ensure that projects that are implemented within the CEO’s Officer are within budget allocated. Prepare the budget for the Office of the CFO and aligned with the operational plan. Develop and monitor the spending of the budget of the Office of the CEO. Provide reasons for over and underspending of the allocated budget. Prepare Demand Management Plans for the Department. Drive initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improve productivity and reduce operating costs within the organisation. Establish document management processes within the Office of the CEO. Coordinate the development of operational policies of the SETA. Ensure that all policies are periodically review, updated and approved. Monitor the implementation of policies and procedural guidelines. Implement internal controls. Ensure that active contracts that fall within the CEO’s are effectively managed and reports project. Represent the CEO in various Fora. Ensure that all incoming submissions requiring the CEO’s attention are properly checked for correctness. Ensure the implementation of processes that capture and exploit innovative opportunities. Set, standardise acceptable practices. Ensure efficient management of interfaces. Ensure transformation within the area of responsibility to execute Cathsseta’s mandate. Ensure that there is annual meeting plans for MANEXCO and MANCO. Provide secretarial services to these committees of Management. Minutes of meetings and Action Logs timely produced and circulated to the members of MANEXCO and MANCO. Ensure that all logistics relating to the meetings are taken cares of. Follow-up on resolutions from the meetings and report to the next meetings. Ensure that documents submitted for MANEXCO and MANCO structures are in proper order.
