HUMAN CAPITAL GENERALIST
Peromnes Grade: Peromnes Grade 08 (R 641 378,02 CTC Per Annum)
Location: Head Office (Pretoria)
Reporting Line: Manager: Human Resources
Overall Job Purpose: The role will assist in rendering end to end effective and efficient human resources support and services to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures in the Council for Geoscience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Talent Management
- Support the provision and implementation of a comprehensive recruitment and selection services
- Develop processes and tools for effective staffing needs assessment
- Ensure that recruitment policy and procedures are adhered to at all times
- Ensure line managers and staff are advised on recruitment process and procedures
- Create and maintain the job profile repository for recruitment and selection purposes
- Co-ordinate recruitment transactional processes for specified and allocated vacant positions:
- Verify all job requisition and job advertisement prior to job posting are completed correctly
- Liaise with the relevant person(s) to ensure timeous placement of job advertisement
- Record, track job applications and oversee the response handling
- Conduct pre-screening of job applications and categorisation of applicants
- Work closely with the line managers to compile the long-list and shortlist
- Schedule interviews with candidates
- Facilitate the compilation of interview questionnaires
- Arrange all logistical requirements for candidates interviews
- Prepare motivations and reports
- Communicate job offers to successful candidates.
- Responsible for arranging the screening of potential candidate through:
- verification of references
- verification and confirmation of qualification
- conducting background checks, and
- administering job related assessments and tests.
- Coordinate the appointment process in liaison with the relevant line managers
- Ensure efficient placement of all vacancies in timeous and speedy manner
- Responsible for the overall effectiveness of sourcing, shortlisting, interviewing and placement of candidates in approved vacant positions within the CGS
- Manage all administration related to the recruitment and selection lifecycle
- Coordinate on-boarding and induction for new staff, as well as providing HR specific orientation as needed
- Develop contacts for viable pipeline regarding current and future opportunities in line with information harvested on recruitment database
- Facilitate the process of payment of recruitment agencies.
- Assist line managers with determining resource requirements within their respective business units
- Develop a resource plans for allocated business units
- Coordinate and assist in scheduling and conducting staff exit interviews
- Create and maintain a database of termination reasons
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the talent management framework
- Support the implementation of CGS’s Employment Equity Plan
Project Management
- Participate in initiatives, projects and activities in which the HR team are engaged in/with
- Assist in the execution of all project plan related to identified HR interventions
Quality Management
- Maintain accurate documentation and information on recruitment and selection processes
- Assist with compilation of reports on recruitment information.
- Manage data and keep up to date records relating to:-
- recruitment of statistics
- staff movements (promotions, lateral transfers, secondment, etc)
- exit interviews
- Develop and maintain a candidate information database
- Oversee analysis and interpretation of recruitment and selection data
- Provision of input to HR reports
- Compiles a graphic report on termination reasons for management
- Identify risks and threats to the recruitment and selection process
People Management
- Compile and submit own Personal Development Plan
- Participate in Continuous Professional Development initiatives/interventions in order to keep up with new technologies and procedures
- Support and participate in the training and development requirements of employees
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 5 years related experience in the same or similar position
- Must have a good understanding of HR processes, systems and tools
- Understanding of the HR policies and procedures
- Proven experience in developing, implementing and reviewing of recruitment and selection policies and procedures
- Good working knowledge of BCEA, LRA, EE Act, SD Act

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
