ASSISTANT TECHNICAL OFFICER: DRILLING  
 
Job Title:   Assistant Technical Officer: Drilling  
Peromnes Grade:  Peromnes Grade 12 (R293 497. 63 CTC Per Annum)
Location:   Pretoria Office
Reporting Line:  Chief Driller
Overall Job Purpose: To assist with the drilling operation under supervision within standardised daily work routines.                                              
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist driller with the developing of a hole.
  • Sampling.
  • Daily checks and maintenance of equipment.
  • Loading and offloading of equipment at the office and drilling sites.
  • Setting up and dismantling of camps and drill sites.
  • Assist in driving the transport necessary to move the drill rig and equipment.
  • Adhoc tasks deemed necessary by Chief Driller or Manager.
 
Key Personal Attributes
  • Ability to work under remote and difficult areas.
  • Ability to relate to members of a team and work within a team setting.
  • Must be physically fit e.g. ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery. Must pass a fitness test.
  • Attention to details.
  • Strict adherence to operation procedures.
  • Flexibility towards changes in priorities as determined by the supervisor/ project manager.
  • Must have good self-discipline and strong sense of responsibility.
 
 
Qualifications and experience
  • Grade 12 with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • Relevant Drilling Assistant experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, code 10.
  • Code 14 driver’s license will be an advantage.
