COMPENSATION FUND VACANCIES
Applications are hereby invited for the appointment of suitable persons to fill the following vacancies in terms of sections 51 and 91 of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act No 130 of 1993.
Interpreter (All Provinces)
Requirements: Qualification in interpretation, experience in interpretation such as in courts, bargaining councils and/or similar forums; Communication skills; Listening skills; Interpersonal skills; Time management; Computer literacy; Analytic thinking; Planning and organizing; Confidentiality; Ability to work under pressure.
Duties: To render interpretation services i.e. interpret the hearing proceedings in terms of sections 51 and 91 of Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act No 130 of 1993
Presiding Officers for COIDA (All Provinces)
Requirements: A four -year legal qualification (B Proc or LLB) and an admission as an Attorney or Advocate. LLM will be an added advantage. Knowledge of interpretation of statutes including Insurance Law, Labour Law Administrative Laws, Social Security Law, Law of Evidence and Court procedures.
Duties: To preside at the hearings conducted in terms of sections 56 & 91 of Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (Act 130 of 1993) as amended
Medical Assessors (All Provinces)
Requirements: The applicants should be in possession of a medical degree (MBCHB) with a 5-year experience after completion of community service. Candidates must be registered with Health Profession Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Knowledge of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries Act (COIDA) is a requirement. Candidates will be expected to attend ABIME training. ABIME qualification will be an added advantage.
Duties: To provide medical advice at the hearings of objections lodged by the aggrieved claimants against the decision of the Compensation Commissioner. The objections are lodged in terms of section 91 of the Compensation for Occupational injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA).
