COMMUNITY SCHEMES OMBUD SERVICE (CSOS)
 
The Community Schemes Ombud Service Act (Act 9 of 2011) was promulgated on 11 June 2011 and provides for the establishment of the Community Schemes Ombud Service (“CSOS”) as a public entity. The CSOS has been classified as a Schedule 3A Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (Act No.1 of 1999) (PFMA).

This position reports to the Chief Ombud and offers a total cost to company package of 
R 1 964 745,93 per annum.

Requirements
• A degree in Information Technology/Computer Science plus an (NQF level 8) in Information Technology/Computer Science. 
• Master’s degree in computer science/ MTech in Information Technology or MBA. 
• 10 – 15 years working experience in the respective field with at least 5 years as a senior manager with the ICT department in large corporate/public sector organization. 
• Extensive track record of implementation large transformation modernisation projects. 
 
Key Performance Areas 
• Provide strategic leadership to the ICT division and drive the development of CSOS’s ICT Strategy and Operating Plan by analysing and interpreting CSOS business strategy and ICT roadmap to determine the strategic direction of the entire ICT function and ensure efficient information management and communication. 
• Monitor all projects related to selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems and minimise the investment required to meet the established services level agreements, to ensure that solutions are aligned to the specification to execute CSOS business. 
• Lead and manage the governance of ICT and develop of ICT policies, standards aimed at maximising the effectiveness and minimising costs related to ICT activities and compliance with external accrediting agency standards, regulatory agencies, and legal requirements. 
• Lead and manage the selection, acquisition, development and installation of ICT infrastructure and monitor ICT operations in line with organisational requirements. 
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to provide technology advice and keep abreast on development in the ICT industry.
