Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide leadership, direction, support and advice to the Provinces, Information and technology report, Human resources department and Communications department.
  • Manage CGE operations
  • Develop and manage the implementation of annual performance plans
  • Establish and manage monitoring, evaluation and control interventions on the day to day delivery of the organisational strategy
  • Oversee the planning, designing, implementation, monitoring of strategic projects within the CGE
  • Prudently manage the organisation’s resources within budget guidelines and relevant legislation
  • Manage relevant operational policies, procedures, guidelines and oversee   proper and accurate management of the CGE at all times, especially the department under your leadership
  • Manage and develop teams under your supervision
  • Manage and coordinate engagements with stakeholders
  • Ensure that the CGE and its employees under your management comply with relevant laws and Regulations
  • Ensure that the strategic direction of the CGE aligns with the relevant national, regional and international instruments
  • Advise the CEO on any strategic and operational matters that require his/her attention
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.
 
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • South African Citizen
  • The most eligible candidate must hold a Master of Business Administration, LLM, or equivalent (NQF 9).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ senior management experience in a human rights environment or 3 years executive management experience, working within human rights bodies.
  • Training on good governance will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in the following fields is critical, Human rights, social sciences, law, Communications, Information technology, and organisational development landscape will be an advantage.
  • Experience of a transformational leader with strong managerial skills, a clear vision, and focused action would position the candidate favourably.
  • Experience in preparations and management of strategic and operational plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legal prescripts on gender equality, particularly Constitutional law.

Responsibilities
Key Functions
Persons interested in this function and who are eminently qualified will be expected to provide oversight and guide the Commission on the following matters:
  • Internal audit.
  • Internal financial controls.
  • Accounting policies.
  • Risk management.
  • Adequacy, reliability and accuracy of financial reporting and information.
  • Performance management.
  • Effective governance.
  • Compliance with legislations.
  • Review of quarterly and annual performance information .
  • Corporate governance.
 
Term of Office
The term of office of appointed candidates will be three years, after which the Commission may review the incumbency.
 
Candidates should possess the following qualities:

  • Legal expertise
  • Good communication skills.
  • Report writing skills.
Willingness to dedicate sufficient time to serve in the Audit Committee
 
Qualifications
The CGE has a vacant post for one member of its Audit Committee. The primary purpose of The Audit Committee is to provide oversight on the financial reporting process, the audit process, corporate governance, systems of internal controls, compliance with laws and regulations and to promote the integrity of the financial status of the CGE, as well as overseeing the maintenance of sound risk management systems.
 
Requirements
  • Master of laws (LLM)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the legal industry as a legal practitioner
  • Minimum of 6 years serving in the Audit and/or Risk Committee.
  • Willingness to serve the interests of the public in a responsible manner.
  • A good understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
  • Treasury Regulations and other legislation governing the work of public entities.
  • An understanding of gender equality will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct research work, including research data gathering through project field work.
  • Conceptualisation of research projects and other research related activities.
  • Participation in the implementation of the Research Department’s Annual Plan of Action.
  • Carrying out activities and functions related to the administration and conducting of the Research Department projects.
  • Participation in various departmental activities, including workshops and seminars to make presentations on research findings
  • Contributing to public debates on gender related issues, including making inputs into internal and external policy processes on gender related issues as and when necessary. Liaise with CGE stakeholders.
  • Perform other activities related to the work of the Research Department as assigned by the Head of Department and Deputy Director.
 
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • South African Citizen
  • A Master of Arts (MA) degree in Social Sciences or a related behavioural science qualification is a basic requirement.
  • A minimum of three years of demonstrable research work experience using quantitative or mixed methods on gender-related issues, as well as demonstrable professional report writing experience with a publications record, are key requirements.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is essential.
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team is crucial, including the readiness to travel extensively throughout the country to conduct research work.
 
Competencies required:
  • Sound knowledge of gender issues and familiarity with the mandate and the work of the CGE. Project management skills; analytical skills; typing skills; research skills in the field and data gathering; computer literacy & demonstrable knowledge and experience in the use of quantitative or mixed-methods research methodologies.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including research report writing and presentation skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to speak at least one African language will be an added advantage

Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide secretarial and administrative support to the CFO by:
  • Answering and screening of calls.
  • Liaison officer on behalf of the CFO’s office.
  • Making travel and other reservations arrangements for the department.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence as requested by the CFO and the Finance Manager.
  • Arranging and managing appointments for the CFO.
  • Arrange, prepare for meeting venues, agendas and take minutes for all Finance and Admin meetings, Finance committee, ICT Committee, Loss Control Committee, BAC, Assets Disposal Committee, etc. and as instructed by the CFO’s office.
  • File all departmental documents properly and maintain archived documents.
  • Monitor, check and ensure accuracy of financial documents pertaining to the CFO’s office.
  • Organise and manage CFO’s office activities, as delegated from time to time.
 
Qualifications
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma or Degree in administration or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years relevant work experience as a Personal Assistant.
  • Intermediate/ Advanced computer literacy certificate.
  • Must be a South African Citizen.
 
Competencies required:
Organizational skills, Problem solving and analysis, Excellent communication skills, typing skills (35 words per minute), Ability to deal with confidential matters, understanding of financial terminologies. Honesty and integrity, Multitasking and prioritising ability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Excellent Project management experience and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in the field of Gender and working with civil society.
  • Ability to implement CGE’s public awareness campaign.
  • Ability to monitor non-compliance with promotion of Gender Equality. Knowledge of one of the indigenous languages spoken in the province will be an added advantage.
  • Be prepared to travel and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Computer literacy and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently, plan and prioritise.
  • Effectively manage the provincial office and all the CGE resources in the province.
  • Supervise and lead staff to achieve the objectives of work plan in
  • consultation with the HOD’s and other stakeholders.
  • Strategic stakeholder relations and management
  • Implement the CGE programmes as they relate to public education, policy research, and legal complaints.
  • Prepare budgets for provincial programmes.
  • Provide regular feedback on the provincial operations.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and a Post Graduate qualification in Management or equivalent qualification in Public Administration or Social science with more than 5 years’ work experience
