The Social Justice and Training Academy Department, in the National Office, has a vacancy for a National Senior Commissioner: Social Justice and Training Academy.
 
Purpose: Devise and employ cutting edge research and business intelligence methodologies to maximise capacity building and enhance organisational operational excellence by building the capacity of internal CCMA staff (Commissioners, Independent Contractors, Support Staff etc.), as well as proactively play a central role in the mitigation and prevention of disputes in the labour market, in order to ensure that social justice is adequately served and as few disputes as possible reach the CCMA. Lead the development and implementation of social justice strategies, programs and initiatives, and advocate for policy changes and raise awareness of social justice issues. Drive the commercialisation of training-related Intellectual Property (IP) through the establishment of strong connections and joint projects with stakeholders, as well as exploring different avenues for the commercialisation of the IP.

Key Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Labour Studies or Social Sciences or Employment Laws.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a Labour Relations environment / Labour Law.
  • 3 years must be in a management position, preferably in senior management.
  • A strong understanding of social justice principles and practices as well as proven experience in social justice advocacy and program management will be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience as a Commissioner will also be an advantage.
