Junior Support Engineer - National Office (Post level: 10)
The National Office -ICT department has a vacancy for a Junior Support Engineer
Purpose: To assist our users with general IT-related technical support issues. As a Junior IT Support Engineer, you will be expected to assist users either onsite or remotely to determine the nature of the problem, diagnose hardware or software issues, provide effective assistance and maintain strong customer relationships.
Key Performance Areas:
• Customer service
• Troubleshooting and resolution
• Installations
• Repairs
Key Requirements:
• Minimum National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology preferred.
• Proven 2+ years of work experience in both first and second level support;
• Ability to critically analyse a symptom, diagnose a fault, plan and take appropriate action on equipment including, PCs, printers, and networking
• Knowledge of hardware components and hardware troubleshooting procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and desktop software.
• Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot network services and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.);
• Cloud Computing concepts
• Experience with anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-spam applications;
• Good time management skills;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work with little supervision at times;
