Duties: 
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Training Facilitator
: Brick layering & Plastering is accountable to the Executive Manager: Corporate Services through the Unit Head: Coega Skills Development Centre

MANDATE
The Training Facilitator
: Brick layering & Plastering is mandated to take responsibility for the facilitation of training courses specific to his/her trade and or ay related training offered by the Centre.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS
Primary responsibilities and obligations of the position entail the following:

Training design and development
Training facilitation for the following:
Apprenticeships
Learnerships
Skills Programmes
Short courses
Health and Safety
First Aid 
 
• Basic Level
Assessment of learners • institutional and experiential learning •Work Integrated Learning Component Placement of learners in workplaces for experiential training and managing thereof Input in the recruitment of learners
Design, implement and manage activities that enhance the learning environment
Interpret, formulate and implement the best practices and standards as applicable to training and development
Ensure that compliance to the quality requirements as stipulated by the QCTO and CDC
Keep proper, accurate and updated training records according to the guidelines provided by CDC.
Through his/her immediate supervisor keep Centre Management informed of all issues arising relating to their duties that could have adverse impact on training activities and or the Centre.
Provide specialist advice to Centre Management

Furthermore, you are to ensure that:
You are aware of and have access to the CDC•s SHEMS;
You are aware of your responsibilities and duties as laid out in the CDC•s SHEMS;
You are aware that you work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner;
You ensure that the company’s housekeeping standards are maintained throughout your area of responsibility;
You report any unsafe conditions or acts which you cannot rectify yourself to your SHE representative or to the Senior SHE Project Manager as soon as possible;
You report all SHE incidents which occur within your area of responsibility promptly and in the correct format;
You are totally familiar with your responsibilities in terms of the CDC•s emergency plan;
You communicate to the Senior SHE Project Manager any required changes to the SHEMS prior to implementing these changes;
You timeously complete and correctly record any corrective action which needs to be taken in order to rectify a SHE matter;
You give full co-operation to, and participate in (as required), the CDC•s internal and external SHEMS audits.



You have the authority to:
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POST
The incumbent must possess the following:

Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
Minimum of N2 qualification in the applicable trade
Related Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal)
Training Facilitator Certificate
Assessor Certificate
Minimum of 3 years experience as a Training Facilitator at an accredited institution

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS OF THE POST
Qualified as an assessor
Have at least Level 1 Basic First Aid Certificate
At least Code 8 Drivers Licence
At least average computer literacy
Ability and experience in couching and mentoring
Ability and experience in teaching life skills that incudes financial literacy, time management, HIV and AIDS and Basic First AID

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POST
The nature of work inherent to this position necessitates that the incumbent be physically fit.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO THE POST (Specify)
Willingness to work away from home for prolonged periods
Comfortable and willing to work onsite (Projects Sites) in rural areas
Able and willing to work at heights
Able and willing to work in all weather conditions provided the conditions are not detrimental to his/her well-being
