REPORTING TO: MANAGER: HEALTH SERVICES
Appointment Minimum Requirements:
• Certificate (Enrolled Nurse)
• 3 years’ relevant experience in occupational health care
Mandatory Professional Body Registration
• South African Nursing Council (SANC)
Primary Function:
Perform employee health and wellness, provide basic medical care (Primary Health), and assist with health screening, and support various health-related programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Occupational Health
Assisting clients with the completion of medical surveillance questionnaires and all other relevant clinic documentation. Conduct health screenings for employees, including measuring vital signs, performing basic medical tests, and documenting results accurately. Provide immediate first aid assistance in case of workplace injuries or medical emergencies, and coordinate with emergency services as needed
Assistance with the workplace facility inspections and the reporting of results under the guidance and supervision of the OHNP. Assistance with the general housekeeping of the clinic
Performance of technical duties such as audiometry, spirometry and vision screening under the supervision of the registered practitioner. Inspection and refill of first aid boxes.
Primary Health Care
Assistance with the execution of required nursing and administrative duties within scope of practice, including chronic monitoring and reporting of all results to the OHNP.
Implementation of infection control and health and safety measures. Maintenance and refilling of clinic stock Performance of any other duties delegated by the registered nursing practitioner within scope of Practice
Providing health and family planning information to individuals and groups
Promote quality improvement initiatives within primary health care settings. Implement strategies for health promotion and disease prevention within primary health care.
Wellness Initiatives
Collaborate with HR and wellness committees to plan and execute health promotion campaigns, wellness challenges, and fitness activities to encourage healthy lifestyle choices among employees. Collaborate with healthcare providers, occupational health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and integrated healthcare services for employees.
