Primary Function: The primary objective of this position is to manage City Power’s Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and energy trading agreements to ensure that City Power procures energy at the least cost.
Key Responsibilities: Manage Power Purchase Agreements with the suppliers of electricity by ensuring the following: The development and approval of a City Power Energy Trading Policy for IPPs. Implementation of proper controls to ensure all activities are performed in line with company practices. Monitor monthly, weekly, and daily IPPs in relation to dispatching procedures. Putting in place energy trading strategies and processes. Compile 3 year rolling load forecasts. Ensure PPA administration is done. Optimize energy mix by maximizing on energy trading opportunities. Provide a Risk Management Report on Cost of Sales. Put in place proper risk mitigation plans within the energy purchasing function. Ongoing liaison with our suppliers of electricity as well as internal departments. Ensure proper backup plan is in place. Monitor that reconciliation of invoices is performed on regular basis. Conduct routine physical examinations, treat employees, conduct routine screenings, and HIV / AIDS tests and management.
