REPORTING TO: EXECUTIVE: HUMAN RESOURCES AND TRANSFORTMATION
 
Appointment Minimum Requirements: 
 Degree (NQF 7) in Human Resources/ Labour Relations Management or Law 
 7 years’ experience in Employee/Labour Relations in a highly unionised environment, 3 years of which must have been in management

Primary Function: 
Lead the management of the employee relations environment within the business by managing and maintaining sound relations with organised labour and establish the implementation of compliant discipline and grievance procedures; whilst establishing healthy and vigorous employee engagement and collaboration by bargaining with all stakeholders. Provide a strategic direction in the development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of a Transformation Framework that empowers City Power employees with a view to build Internal Processes and Strategic Capabilities needed for the realisation of City Power Strategic Objectives. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Establish, develop and direct the vision, mission and strategic objectives of the Department in alignment with the strategic mandate of City Power as well as the statutory and regulatory requirements to meet and/or exceed the objectives defined in the strategic mandate of City Power; 
  • Drive the Employee Relations & Transformation Department to function as a collaborative, integrated organisation, which functions as one within the confines of the strategic mandate of City Power 
  • Continually build relationships with key interested and affected parties at executive and other levels and with comparable organisations to ensure the implementation of best practices; 
  • Oversee the HR governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks and enhance the HR risk management process to achieve City Power strategic initiatives 
  • Drive the development of the EE Strategy and monitor strategic EE programmes, projects and initiatives for City Power to ensure compliance with legislation. 
  • Lead the management of training and technical training programmes that will ensure capabilities exist within City Power. 
  • Champion the implementation of effective relationships with organised labour and workplace discipline and grievance resolutions at City Power. 
  • Through formal processes and personal leadership, ensure that sound corporate governance principles are adhered to throughout the Employee Relations & Transformation Department. 
  • Provide direction for an enabling environment in order to provide the organisation with best practices in the Department 
  • Approve policies, procedures and standards regulating the key aspects for which the Department is responsible for and ensure proper assurances are applied to monitor compliance with those policies, procedures and standards;

DEPARTMENT: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMNT
REPORTING TO: CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
 
Appointment Minimum Requirements:
• National Diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain Management
• 10 years’ relevant experience, of which 5 years must be at a middle management level in the supply chain management discipline
• Experience working in an environment regulated by Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) Municipal Financial Management Act (MFMA)
 
Added Advantage
• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Supply Chain Management
 
Statutory Professional Body Registration:
South African Professional Body for Supply Chain Management (SAPICS) or any relate Institution
 
Primary Function:
Develop and deploy the supply chain strategies and plans in City Power to optimise on procurement of quality goods and services at the right prices and within the timeline requirements of the organisation. Review supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws; whilst monitoring supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; and make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Supply Chain Management Department to function as a collaborative, integrated organisation, which functions as one within the confines of the strategic mandate of City Power;
  • Lead the implementation of decisions taken by EXCO within the Supply Chain Management Department
  • Through formal processes and personal leadership, ensure that sound corporate governance principles are adhered to throughout the Supply Chain Management Department
  • Oversee the development of proposals, bids, quotations, RFQ responses and/or other documents describing City
  • Power products and services
  • Develop, implement and maintain a commodity inventory strategy that supports a company's supply chain.
  • Responsible for developing and driving sourcing projects to achieve savings goals
  • Develops, implements, and maintains a commodity inventory strategy that supports a company's supply chain.
  • Responsible for developing and driving sourcing projects to achieve savings goals
  • Provide governance, compliance and ensure oversight, robust decision making, transactions and undertakings are valid, executable and complies with statutory requirements and best practices in a standardised manner
  • Responsible for network optimisation and logistics automation processes. Specifically, this role is responsible for creating regular optimisation plans for the organisation. Manages the supply chain functions of scheduling, procurement and forecasting.
