CITY OF TSHWANE
REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR PROFESSIONAL NURSES (EIGHT POSITIONS) TO SUPPORT OCCUPATIONAL AND EMPLOYEE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELLNESS SERVICES IN THE CITY OF TSHWANE FOR A CONTRACT PERIOD FROM 1 JUNE TO 30 NOVEMBER 2021
The City of Tshwane renders a comprehensive occupational health service in all its occupational health clinics to the City of Tshwane and its employees to maintain and promote the health and safety of all its employees while at work.
The services include conducting COVID-19 testing, contact tracing, screenings, co-morbidity assessments and vaccinations, training employees (awareness campaigns), and implementing the medical surveillance evaluation programme. These requirements can be achieved by the employment of eight contracted professional nurses for the above specified period to manage COVID-19 health challenges, such as training, screening, testing, contact tracing and the vaccination roll-out.
QUALIFYING CRITERIA
• Diploma in General Nursing, Midwifery and Community Health
• Certificate or Diploma in Primary Health Nursing
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
• COVID-19 vaccination training for healthcare workers will be an added advantage
• No criminal record or dismissal for misconduct at previous place(s) of work
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The professional nurses will be expected to work under direct supervision and still work within the scope of practice by performing the following duties:
• COVID-19 testing
• Contact tracing
• Screening
• Assisting with co-morbidity assessments
• Training employees (awareness campaigns)
• COVID-19 vaccinations
• Assisting in the medical surveillance evaluation programme

REMUNERATION
• R164 per hour
• The professional nurses will be contracted through a City of Tshwane contract
