ACCOUNTANT
Department: Environment & Infrastructure Services Department (EISD)
Branch: Finance
Designation: Accountant
Remuneration: R24 119.71 pm (basic salary, excluding benefits)
Location: Traduna House, 118 Jorissen Street, Braamfontein
Minimum Requirements:
• Diploma in Accounting/Finance Management;
• 1 – 3 years’ relevant experience.
Primary Function:
Support the Head: Budget and Accounting, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Assets in improving the financial management system, processes and applications within EISD, through monitoring and reporting on the departmental budget, cash management, financial reporting, financial accounting, SCM, assets and administration; as well as executing accounting procedures and standards to obtain a Clean Audit Report for EISD.
Key Performance Areas:
• Coordinate and control sequences associated with the verification and provision of information related to Expenditure transactions through Financial execution and budgeting and Transactional procedures and applications;
• Assist the EISD to control their key performance and results indicators so that the Asset Management Policy, SCM Policy, Budget & Accounting Policies are fully complied with, ensuring that all assets, SCM, budget and accounting processes and reports are accurately, efficiently and effectively undertaken and completed in order to conform, to the requirements of the above mentioned policies and including but not limited to the Municipal Finance Management Act and other City’s financial strategies and policies. This unit controls the assets, the budget and accounting and SCM sections within the City.
