1. Department: Legislature
Branch: ANC Party Caucus Support
Designation: Senior Secretary
Annual total remuneration package: R326 906.21 all-inclusive cost to company
Appointment Requirements:
• Grade 12/NQF level 4 plus Secretarial Diploma/Certificate;
• 1- 2 years relevant experience operating at Secretarial/Administrative level;
• Suitably qualified candidate as defined by Section 20(3) of the EE Act will be considered;
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Office Applications; and
• Good communication skills.
Primary Function: Coordinate activities and requirements associated with Caucus Office within the Legislature through the application of administrative and secretarial procedures and execution of sequences associated with the communication, planning, prioritisisation and organization of critical, confidential and important appointments, events/functions and meetings.
Key Performance Areas: Administrative support functions, scheduling and planning the diary and events. Office administration functions and secretarial support. Maintenance of the Unit’s correspondence/information and recordkeeping system and access records of discussions, instructions and correspondence. Perform tasks associated with the provision of Reception/Telephonist service as well as office support.

2. Department: Legislature

Designation: Personal Assistant
Annual total remuneration package: R405 638.80 all-inclusive cost to company
Appointment Requirements:
• Grade 12/NQF level 4 plus a Secretarial/Administration Diploma (NQF level 6);
• Suitably qualified candidate as defined by Section 20(3) of the EE Act will be considered;
• At least 3 years’ experience operating at a Senior Secretarial level within a government environment;
• Experience in administration and documentation management is required;
• Knowledge of administration functions; and
• Computer skills.
Primary function: Provide assistance to the Caucus Offices in all administrative activities. Preparing for meetings, minute taking and the implementation of decisions taken at meetings to ensure that the responsibilities of the Caucus Offices are followed through and completed within required standards and deadlines. In addition, provide administrative and secretarial support services to the Caucus Leaders so that efficient and effective administration is provided within the required policies and procedures.
Key Performance Areas: Provide assistance to the Caucus Office in terms of logistics and recording of meeting outcomes. Provide office support and administrative assistance to the Caucus Leaders. Provide general office assistance. Operate within the policies and procedures of the council and response to the correspondence that does not require the office manager’s response. Provide an effective documentation management system.

Appointment Requirements:
• Honours Degree/NQF level 8 in Social Science or Political Science;
• Suitably qualified candidate as defined by Section 20(3) of the EE Act will be considered;
• 5 - 7 years’ working experience in conducting research;
• Knowledge of relevant legislative and policy framework, such and MFMA, PFMA, MSA, etc.
• Knowledge of research methodology, software and people management
Primary Function: Provide effective research and analysis services to the ANC Caucus. Initiate, implement and manage research projects in order to guide ANC Caucus decisions and actions in the exercise of their oversight and scrutiny mandate. Provide research and advisory services to the Study Group Whips in the fulfilment of their duties to ANC Caucus and their key performance areas. Manage and develop strategic annual action programs of the ANC Caucus. Manage the content and process of oversight activities of ANC study groups through identification of relevant areas, providing background reports and monitoring the implementation of committee recommendations and council resolutions. Provide knowledge management services to the ANC Caucus.
Key Performance Areas: Provide research and analytical support to ANC Caucus in line with the oversight and scrutiny mandate. Conduct oversight visits independently and with the ANC Caucus Committees to monitor and report on service delivery projects and programmes. Provide analytical support to Caucus Committees when scrutinizing draft by-laws and policies. Record and verify the implementation of Council resolutions emanating from Committee recommendations.
