OFFICE MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: Social Development
BRANCH: Office of the Executive Head
DESIGNATION: Office Manager
REMUNERATION: R29 850,81 pm (basic salary, excluding benefits)
LOCATION: Metropolitan Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard, Braamfontein
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 plus National Diploma in Business Administration/Project Management/Public Administration at NQF level 6;
• 3 – 4 years’ relevant experience in administration.
Primary Function:
Develop and maintain sound office administration that support the function in the Office of the Executive Head. Manage and provide a comprehensive professional management service in terms of Social Development implementation and maintenance to the Office of the Executive Head, also to coordinate processes/systems of administration, communication, and logistical support in the office.
Key Performance Areas:
• Develop and maintain sound office administration that support the function in the Office of the Executive Head; coordinate and implement communication and administrative processes and systems;
• Manage the implementation of procedures and systems associated with controlling document flow and record keeping;
• Draft documents for correspondence in accordance with the requisite format;
• Manage arrangements and logistics of meetings;
• Effectively liaise and support the Office of the Executive Head in ensuring qualitative and timeous resolution of all matters and queries;
• Supervise and empower immediate subordinates;
• Manage specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the Section and individual performance.
Leading Competencies:
• Computer literacy including MS Office Applications;
• Good communication skills;
• High level of confidentiality as well as coordination and organisational skills;
• Time Management, working independently, under pressure and ability to prioritise.
Core Competencies:
• Knowledge in the Local Government environment, City’s Strategy (IDP), prescribed methodologies, legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks;
• Principles of change management and Corporate Governance;
• In-depth understanding of strategy and polices in relation to organisational effectiveness and resource planning and how they can be practically applied;
• Knowledge of principles and practices of municipal organisation, administration and personnel management;
• Collaborative/Teamwork, Values and Integrity, Attention to detail and quality focused;
• Customer and Service Delivery Management (Batho Pele) Ethics, Professionalism;
• Impact and Influence according to City’s protocols, Legislation, and standards.

LOCATION: 118 Jorissen Street, Traduna Building, Braamfontein
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12/NQF level 4 plus Diploma in Community Development or equivalent NQF level 6 related qualification;
• 1 - 3 years’ experience in Youth Development work;
• Experience working with the community and specifically Youth;
• Knowledge of Community development policies and practices;
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
Primary Function:
Implement and facilitate Youth Development Programmes and administration of Youth Empowerment in order to ensure efficient and qualitative service delivery.
Key Performance Areas:
• Coordinate implementation of youth development programmes initiatives;
• Administer Youth Development Programmes;
• Provide administrative support in relation to the Unit and programme implementation;
• Liaise and coordinate with external and external stakeholders to ensure integration in services for Youth as per the COJ policies and procedures.
Leading Competencies:
• Work after hours and weekends when the need arise;
• Ability to effectively work the public and leaders in the community.
Core Competencies:
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and excel);
• Community Development practices;
• Good Communication (verbal and written);
• Report writing and record keeping;
• Coordinating skills.
