Primary Function
To plan, coordinate , manage , implement and evaluate Primary Health Care programmes such as Training and skills development for all staff in the city of Johannesburg Health Department and ensure that the administration aspects is effected and also to ensure the provision of quality health care in the city of Johannesburg health facilities , promote compliance for the preparation of the NHI process through the ideal clinic, the national Core standards and the re-engineering of primary health care for improved health outcomes. Training and skills development of staff in the health department as well as the coordination with nursing colleges so that student nurses can receive the necessary experiential learning in the COJ Health facilities. This is to enhance adequate skilled and competent staff for the delivery of health facilities. Key Performance Areas:
• Identifies and defines the immediate, short, intermediate, and long-term objectives / plans associated with the provision of National PHC Core package of service, District Health Information Systems (DHIS), Training programmes and Research within the City.
• Identifies and defines the short to medium term objectives and priorities of the Training and skills and the National core package of services encapsulating procurement, expenditure, and control functionalities, by monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the activities and procedure in accordance with the MFMA and other relevant legal frameworks.
• Manage the supply Chain Management (SCM processes to secure accredited training providers (external and internal). Coordinates and manage the sequences associated with establishing the skills capacity of the department.
• Develop, plan, manage coordinate and implement experiential learning programmes in COJ health facilities in partnership with external stakeholders.
• Programme monitoring, evaluation, and research.
• Evaluate post training events. Involvement in research initiative. Health information Management in training.
• Manage, lead plan organize, control monitor and evaluate the implementation of the key performance indicators and outcomes of personnel involved in the PHC training programmes.

Primary Function:
The position will undertake cleaning duties of clinics under supervision in the prescribed way to facilitate the delivery of acceptable health care services and standards.
Key Performance Areas:
• Provide daily, weekly and when necessary, cleaning services that will create a clean and healthy environment conducive for quality health services, in Clinics and for all other Health facilities.
• Assist all activities/tasks related to Cleaning at the PHC Unit/facility.
• Ensure delivery of a good, clean, well-maintained service area to patients and colleagues.
• Execute all activities related to the cleaning of both inside and external environment of the clinic or all other health facilities.

• 1 years’ experience as a Health Promoter in the Primary Health Care environment;
• Understanding of the city’s policies as they relate to WBOT, school health and disease outbreak response;
• Computer literacy; and surveillance
Primary Function:
Apply procedural Health Promotion sequences by assisting in the management of comprehensive primary health care services and participate in community focused awareness initiatives, providing support, information distribution and demonstrations to ensure that the health objectives in terms of all relevant National Policies and standard guidelines are met.

• Plan and coordinate Health Promotion activities in the health facility in the community.
• Create conducive environments that support healthy behavior in the surrounding community.
• Facilitate the implementation of all priority health programmes.
• Facilitate the coordination and implementation of Advocacy and Communication Strategy.
• Conduct targeted community mobilization.
• Provide support and technical assistance to the WBOT teams.
• Integrate health promotion into school health services and health promoting schools.
• Plan, coordinate and implement health promotion activities in support for disease outbreak response and intervention in collaboration with the sub-district outbreak response team.

• Grade 12/NQF level 4 plus NCPC Certificate;
• Registration with Department of Agriculture (Act 36 of 1947);
• 2 years’ experience in application of pesticides and herbicides;
• Must have a valid driver’s license Code EB; and
• Must have valid public drivers permit.
Primary Function:
Control and supervise pest control operations in the quest to eradicate pests within a specified area and service other departments of the City of Joburg that require Pest control interventions, Do audit inspections, monitoring, evaluation reporting, enforcing compliance and disseminates information and/or advise on practices that negatively impact on the environment and take appropriate measures to curb pest control risk to ensure the provision of clean a and healthy environment conducive to and supporting a better quality of live through the City of Johannesburg.
Key Performance Areas:
• Coordinate, monitor and assist staff so that daily operations are successfully achieved by utilizing staff and equipment to their potential.
• Supervise, control, and monitor staff daily control and direct the utilization of resources. Communicate with staff, Manager, and the community on daily basis.
• Provide an after-hour vector control service in the event of an emergency.
