PERMANENT POSITION
SPECIALIST: STRATEGIC RISK
DEPARTMENT: Group Risk and Assurance Services (GRAS)
BRANCH: Office of the City Manager
DESIGNATION: Specialist: Strategic Risk
REMUNERATION: R42 403.58 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
LOCATION: SAPPI, Braamfontein
Minimum Requirements:
• Degree preferably in Risk Management (NQF level 7).
• 5 - 7 years in Risk Management.
• Knowledge and experience of Strategic Risk, Operational Risk, Physical risk, Risk Control and Business Continuity management.
• Knowledge of Local Governments, legislation, resources utilisation and its management and Process Evaluation.
• Strong Presentation; Negotiation; Analytical; communication (verbal and written); networking and Report Writing skills required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
Primary Function:
Implement and maintain integrated risk management activities, Business Continuity Management and control assessment throughout the City (Departments and Entities).
Key Performance Areas:
• Perform activities according to enterprise management framework, policies and procedures;
• Implement effective risk management programme plans by performing activities that assist identify potential exposure.
• Compliance with City’s policies

• Ability to apply your mind to multiple industries;
• Ability to deal effectively with officials at all levels;
• Ability to prioritise effectively and to accept responsibility;

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel),
• Good communication and interpersonal relation;
• Good report writing skills;
• Negotiation and strong representation skills.
