Appointment Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications/Journalism/Marketing or equivalent (NQF level 7);
• Post graduate will be an advantage; and
• 7 - 9 years' experience, of which 5 years at management level;
• Understanding of the City's strategy and departmental strategic framework;
• Administrative capacity and leadership;
• Stakeholder management savvy and sensitivity;
• Business management processes, systems and approaches.
 
 
Primary Function: Provide a comprehensive Communications support function to the Department by managing the team's (communication/stakeholder engagement/community facilitation) outputs, dealing with proactive media relations, planning, development strategies, process daily queries and "crises management", engaging with other spheres of government regarding policies and service delivery programs and ensure adherence and compliance to the CoJ communication policies and protocols.
 
Key Performance Areas: Identify and define immediate, short and long term objectives associated with the Communications Services and processes. Give input into the preparation, monitoring and controlling of the annual Communications budget. Direct and control outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel within the Communications Section/Unit. Identify and define the immediate, short and long term objectives/plans associated with the provision of administrative support to the directorate. Develop, implement and monitor stakeholder communications strategy to set the standard, address communication matters, and ensure consistency and alignment to the CoJ strategy. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the current internal and external communication in order to determine the effectiveness of employed strategies and take remedial steps where necessary. Lead the civic education campaigns. Manage and control outgoing communication. Handle media enquiries effectively. Influence the media opinion during media briefings, media induction sessions, media tours and media networking sessions. Procure goods and services for directorate in consultation with Director: Business Management Support. Responsible for the development and implementation of all strategic marketing plans and put together and advertising strategy and ensure consistent brand awareness. Manage and coordinate campaign activities, exhibitions and promotions aimed to reach the target audience of the Department.

Appointment Requirements:
• National Diploma/ NQF level Real Estate: Property valuation or qualification recognized by the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP).
• Valid registration as a Professional Associated Valuer or Professional with SACPVP.
• Five (5) - seven (7) years Valuation experience.
• Computer literacy MS Office); and Excel.
• Supervisory experience.
 
Primary Function: Manage the valuations of al properties in the area of jurisdiction for the purpose of the compilation of the City of Johannesburg’s General and supplementary Valuation Rolls in order to comply with all legislative requirements and responsibilities of the positions as delegated by the Municipal Valuer in terms of the MPRA 6 of 204, as amended.
 
Key Performance Areas: Manage technical operations of the valuations directorate. Interprets and coordinates specifics tasks and guides the activities of personnel. Lead and monitor the research, field work interpretation and analysis of data, and motivation of value for the valuation of all the types of properties in the area of jurisdiction. Administrative support as stipulated by the MPRA. Manage and implement al Valuation legal process in the area of jurisdiction. Lead and monitor the performance of Parks Contributions valuation requests from development planning. Develop and execute operational plan for the team. Manage and coach staff in the Valuation unit to ensure that all staff met the department's objectives in line with broader organizational objectives and requirements as well as resource constraints. Manage and monitor the record keeping system to ensure that a proper and functional filing and documentation retrieval system is implemented and adhered to. Manage and monitor the assets resources of the Team. Control consolidates, analyse and submit various reliable reports. Practice god governance and management of risk. Provide enhanced process optimisation, efficiency and continuous improvement in property valuation. Engage relevant stakeholder and represent the valuations Division on property valuation maters.
