1. Department: Group Communication and Marketing
Branch: Marketing
Designation: Manager: Graphics
Salary Range: R39 055.92 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
Appointment Requirements:
B Degree/NQF level 7 in Graphic Design or a related art or design-based subject;
5 - 7 years’ experience as a graphic design specialist;
Demonstrable experience in the conception, design and production of a variety of publications (from single sheet fliers to outdoor advertising) (design portfolio and sample of work required);
Project management within the context of graphic design.
Primary Function: Oversee the creation of designs, concepts and layout. The main purpose is to produce visual presentations or imagery with the aim of communication and messaging to targeted audiences. Responsibilities include supervising and executing design activities, including computer graphics, web page graphics, logos, illustrations, advertisements, brochures and other forms of visual communication.
Key Performance Areas: Manage and oversee the design or creating of communications materials. Ensure innovation through design. Ensure and confirm compliance with the City’s Corporate Identity (CI) standards and approved guidelines. Build relationships and work effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders/clients. Review and monitor the effectiveness of design activities and assessing it to report to the Deputy Director and/or Deputy Director. Manage the outcomes associated with the utilization, productivity and performance of design staff. Oversee the implementation of financial controls/procedures and provide information to support financial planning processes within the Marketing Unit.
Leading Competencies: Artistic and creative; Project and time management; Multi-tasking; Problem-solving; Emotional intelligence; Well-organised and attention to detail. Understanding of the marketing and advertising environment.
Core Competencies: Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint). Knowledge of computer applications technology and design software. HTML or any other web design applications and use of design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Master Collection, AutoCAD, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Fireworks and Adobe Bridge). Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required. Artistic and creative.

Salary Range: R50 238.79 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
Appointment Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or B-degree in the Property Management/Built Environment/Commerce/Business Administration/Public Administration/Development Studies (NQF level 7);
7 – 8 years’ experience in the Social Housing Sector or Municipal Rental Housing Sector or Private Rental Sector of which 4 years should be at Middle Management level; Knowledge on the local government environment, the City’s IDP, prescribed Methodologies, Legislative, Policy and Regulatory Frameworks;
In-depth knowledge of function principles, techniques and tools and how they can be practically applied;
Knowledge on Corporate Governance and principles and practices of municipal organization, administration and personnel management.
Primary Function: Manage a portfolio type of public rental stock, develop and implement an Annual Repairs and Maintenance Plan, according to allocated budgets and qualification requirements.
Key Performance Areas: Manage the implementation of policies, procedures and systems. Operations management. Customer and Stakeholder management. Maintenance of buildings. Risk management. Budgeting and reporting. Management of tenders and contracts, Tracking of management queries. Staff management. Stakeholder management. Manage operational assets and resources (materials and tools). Governance and risk management. Administrative management.
