This Vacancy is open to External Applicants AND Employees of the City of JohannesburgThe City of Johannesburg seeks to fill an executive level position. Appointment in this position will be subject to the signing of anemployment contract and performance agreement, as well as disclosure of financial interests.

Appointment Requirements: A first degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Law or associated discipline (NQFLevel 7); OHSand Logistics Management qualification will be an added advantage; At least 8 - f2 years' relevant experience in OHS and LogisticsManagement in either the public or private sector; Experience in managing a complex fleet supply chain and logistics and distributionwithin a medium to large organisation; Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and managing safety programs; Experiencein management and financial Modelling; Thorough understanding of IT innovation in related industry/field and their potential application tothe Unit function; Sound knowledge of the Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000, Municipal Finance Management Act, 2004 and Companies'Act, GAAP, Income Tax Act and PFMA; Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHASA) as it relates to the region,reporting and associated processes; Principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration; 
Ability to plan activities,goals and objectives of staff members and the department and monitor compliance to same as dictated by Group policy; Understandthe industry and market in which the Group and City operates; Develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with internal and externalstakeholders; Proficiency in the use and maintenance managements systems; Analyse incident data and new processes for potential safetyconcerns, developing trend analysis and metrics reporting; Strong knowledge of safety best practices including Driver Safety Programs,Ergonomic Design Guidelines, Workers Compensation Case Management OHS regulations, Incident/Accident Investigation and Hazardanalysis; Work to deadlines with good prioritization and time management skills; Sound knowledge of audit principles and practices and riskmanagement; Computer literacy and business acumen; No criminal record (excluding previous conviction's relating to political activities inthe previous dispensation); Will undergo security vetting; and Must have a valid driver's licence, work extended hours and be on standby.
 
Primary Function: Ensure continuous improvement of the Group's occupational health and safety performance to world class standards,while driving compliance to applicable regulatory standards. Responsible for safekeeping of Group fleet vehicles; ensure maintenance andrepairs of the vehiclesis completed in a timely, efficient and effective manner; responsible for the oversight, management and coordination ofthe Group's Corporate Services contracts administrationand logistical support services functions. 
 
Key Performance Areas: The incumbentis responsible and accountable for ensuring Occupational Health and Safety of all employees through the development and implementationof the strategic approach; the alignment and compliance with the OSH Act and the effective management of COlD. Ensure effectiveContract Management of general corporate services on behalf of the city (Cell phones, Newspapers, Photocopying and High Speed DigitalCopiers). Ensure the provision of Support and Logistical Services to the Group (incl. ME5), which comprise F&B Management, LogisticalServices, Printing, Dispatch Management, Emergency Stores, etc.) Development and implementation of Fleet Usage, Maintenance andSafekeeping policies, standards and guidelines and the monitoring and reporting of city wide Fleet Compliance. OHS and Logistics relatedrisk management; Financial management of unit functions; Management reporting; Administration management; Business management ofthe unit and People management of unit staff.
