STATION ASSISTANT: SALES AND CUSTOMER CARE

DESIGNATION: Station Assistant: Sales and Customer Care 
REMUNERATION: R12 076, 97 pm (basic salary, excluding benefits) 
LOCATION: City of Johannesburg 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Grade 10 (NQF level 2); 
  • 0 – 2 years relevant experience in cash handling and customer care. 
 
Primary Function:
Execute sales, customer care and stakeholder relations as well as other station related responsibilities for effective, efficient rendering of professional Rea Vaya services that exceed customer expectations. 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
  • Execute pre-shift station inspection process to ensure smooth station operation; 
  • Perform pre-shift cash float and the stock reconciliation; 
  • Execute card sales and trip top-up processes in line with the applicable policies and standard operating procedures; 
  • Execute sales-related banking processes in line with applicable policies and standard operating procedures; 
  • Perform customer care-related processes and procedures; 
  • Execute effective stakeholder relations and communication in line with the applicable policies and standard operating procedures; 
  • Monitor and control the use of allocated resources and assets in line with the applicable policies and standard operating procedures; 
  • Perform activities associated with inventory and financial management and control in line with the applicable policies and standard operating procedures; 
  • Perform station operations related administrative and reporting activities.

LOCATION: City of Johannesburg 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Grade 12/Matric (NQF level 4); 
  • 2 – 3 years’ relevant experience in a cash handling environment. 
 
Primary Function:
Execute supervisor duties for the Rea Vaya services and effective and efficient functioning of the ticket booth. 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
  • Supervise the station pre-shift inspection; 
  • Undertake the Station’s daily operational planning process; 
  • Facilitate the Station’s day-to-day financial planning and budgeting processes; 
  • Lead and facilitate the station performance management planning process; 
  • Lead and facilitate the development of the Station’s Personal Development Plans (PDPs) process; 
  • Ensure effective and efficient Station processes and systems through escalations; 
  • Participate in the Recruitment, Selection, and Placement process for sourcing suitably qualified staff for the Station; 
  • Provide sound leadership for the achievement of the Station’s objectives; 
  • Supervise the implementation of Station Operations processes and procedures in line with the City’s policies; 
  • Ensure effective control of the Station’s human resources; 
  • Ensure effective Assets management and control for the Station;

Minimum Requirements: 
  • Grade 12 plus B-Degree (NQF level 7) in Public Administration / Business Administration / Development Planning. 
  • 10 years’ management experience of which 5 years must be at middle management level in Local Government or Public Sector. 
  • Knowledge of Local Government environment and legal requirements. 
  • Knowledge of Local Government and all its functions.

Primary Function:
Provide executive functions, support and coordinate all regionalized department functions by providing a single point of accountability in the 7 Regions i.e. The provision of localized citizen and customer contact points; and that the regions act as a central mechanism to mobilize citizens, NGO’s rate-payer organizations etc. into a partnership of becoming the eyes, ears, mouthpiece, and activators of the city on issues of service delivery, urban management and citizen relationship. The Regional Executive Head are expected: 
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of all services in an area of jurisdiction (region) must be able to work and support other departments, entities, and other spheres of government to deliver effective service. 
  • Ensure effective and efficient regional governance mode by establishing institutional arrangements that promote a well-coordinated and responsive service delivery function.
