Salary: R38 605.23 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
Appointment Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in development studies or the built environment/NQF level 7 • Seven (7) years’ relevant experience, of which two (2) years must be management experience • High degree of interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of staff and Public Stakeholders • Sound knowledge of inter alia all aspects of Performance Management and the processes associated with this aspect of reporting.
Primary Function: Provide strategic guidance and planning to implement the Inner City regeneration strategy. Formulate and implement frameworks, policies, precinct plans and development strategies of high complexity, including the initiation of development projects and programmes.
Management of the Development Processes, projects and programmes as well as the capital budget planning process. Direct interface with senior officials and members of the public. Provide research analysis of development trends and formulate growth management strategies. Facilitate implementation of projects through management of multidisciplinary teams.
Key Performance Areas: Provide strategic direction and approach for projects and programmes in the unit. Ensure legal compliance in all the units’ functions and duties. Provide strategic direction and guidance for the unit’s work-streams and inner city developments. Formulate precinct plans, direct business plans for incorporation into budget processes. Assessments of precinct plans and frameworks undertaken by other departments or external parties. Coordinate and facilitate development and implementation efforts with internal and external development stakeholders. Provide strategic advice and support development to all stakeholders and interested parties. Manage the implementation of financial controls/procedures and provide information to support the financial planning sequences, monitor performance and provide feedback on a regular basis.
Leading Competencies: Ability to organise multiple high level tasks simultaneously. Facilitate and direct consultation with external stakeholders to ensure strategic outcomes. Facilitate stakeholder engagements.
Core Competencies: Confidentiality. Ability to work under pressure and produce accurate reports within limited timeframes. High degree of interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of staff and external stakeholders. Ability to produce documents of a high quality.
