Professional Engineer

Educational requirements and experience: • B Tech / BSc Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering / NQF level 7 • Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) certification • Four (4) to six (6) years of relevant experience (design and construction of engineering services for townships, exposure to municipal engineering procedures) • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office • Verbal and written communication skills • Knowledge of Local Government, Planning legislation, standards and procedures and Council systems and procedures.
Job description:Provide professional engineering evaluation and coordination of Municipal Owned Entities (MEs) comments to Land Use Management in the process of assessing development applications and for the purpose of enabling calculations of bulk services contributions in order to facilitate on-going orderly urban development in the region.
Senior Specialist: Town Planner

Job description:Manage, direct and oversee the proper functioning of the unit in order to ensure comprehensive and quantitative technical assistance and support in the Legal Administration function, through the coordination of the post approval process and implementation of Land Use. The incumbent will also manage the impact of proposed applications on municipal engineering services, calculate the service contribution due, and direct the payment of external engineering service contributions in terms of applicable town planning legislation and in accordance with the approved Council policies and guidelines.

Job description:Perform tasks activities associated with coordinating the logistical and procedural requirements for Committee Meetings, provision of secretarial support through the application of laid down meeting procedures, accessing and making available information, translating documents and performing related administrative sequences in line with legislation in order to convey Council resolutions on Land Use Management applications.

Salary range: R22 707.94 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
Educational requirements and experience: • B Tech / Degree or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification in Civil Engineering or Town Planning • Four (4) to six (6) years of relevant experience in design and construction of engineering services for townships • Basic knowledge of town planning • Intermediate computer literacy.
Job description: The incumbent will be required to provide comprehensive, qualitative assistance and support in the Legal Administration function through the coordination of the post approval process and implementation of Legal Use rights, in conjunction with other relevant departments and in compliance with legislative requirements. The incumbent will also be required to calculate bulk engineering contributions that occur as a result of a change in Land Use.
