1. Department: Development Planning
Branch: Land Use Development Management
Designation: Planning Committee Coordinator
Salary Range: R22 993.05 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
Appointment Requirements:
• Grade 12 / NQF level 4 plus a National Diploma in Public Administration or any tertiary qualification related to the HR discipline at NQF level 6;
• 1 - 3 years’ work experience in land use control management and implementation of planning rights;
• Working in committees and tribunal hearings will be an added advantage;
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office;
• Verbal and written communication skills;
• Basic knowledge of development and land use concepts and functions; and
• Knowledge of committee processes.

Primary Function: Perform tasks/activities associated with coordinating the logistical and procedural requirements for Committee Meetings, provision of secretarial support through the application of laid down meeting procedures, accessing and making available information, translating documents and performing related administrative sequences in line with legislation in order to convey Council resolutions on Land Use Management applications.
Key Performance Areas: Coordinate specific logistical and procedural requirements associated with Council meetings. Provide secretarial support to various Committee and Sub Committee sittings within the Department and Council. Perform administrative activities associated with preparation of documents and correspondence for circulation. Perform administrative activities associated with coordinating a hearing. Coordinate interaction between all relevant stakeholders.
Leading Competencies: Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy and excellent planning, organizing and time management skills. Sound judgement.
Core Competencies: People Management. Good negotiation and conflict management skills. Good problem solving skills and information gathering skills. Excellent verbal, written and communication skills. Ability to operate in a highly-intensive customer service and public interface environment with continued pressure to deliver high quality work standards. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Confidentiality, professionalism, political non-partisan, understanding Batho Pele principles.

2. Department: Group Finance
Branch: Property: Valuations
Designation: Area Manager Valuations
Salary Range: R40 422.86 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
Appointment Requirements:
• National Diploma/ NQF level 7 Real Estate: Property valuation or qualification recognized by the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP).
• 5 years Valuation experience.
• Computer literacy (MS Office); and Excel.
• Supervisory experience.
• Registered as Professional Associated or Professional Valuer with SACPVP.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and own transport.
Primary Function: Manage the valuations of all properties in the area of jurisdiction for the purpose of the compilation of the City of Johannesburg’s General and supplementary Valuation Rolls in order to comply with all legislative requirements and responsibilities of the positions as delegated by the Municipal Valuer in terms of the MPRA 6 of 2004, as amended.
Key Performance Areas: Manage technical operations of the valuations directorate. Interprets and coordinates specifics tasks and guides the activities of personnel. Lead and monitor the research, field work interpretation and analysis of data, and motivation of value for the valuation of all the types of properties in the area of jurisdiction. Administration support as stipulated by the MPRA. Manage and implement all the Valuation legal processes in the area of jurisdiction. Lead and monitor the performance of Parks Contributions valuation requests from development planning. Develop and execute operational plan for the team. Manage and coach staff in the Valuation unit to ensure that all staff meet the department’s objectives in line with broader organizational objectives and requirements as well as resource constraints. Manage and monitor the record keeping system to ensure that a proper and functional filing and documentation retrieval system is implemented and adhered to. Manage and monitor the assets and resources of the Team. Control consolidates, analyse and submit various reliable reports. Practice good governance and management of risk. Provide enhanced process optimisation, efficiency and continuous improvement in property valuation. Engage relevant stakeholder and represent the valuations Division on property valuation matters.

Core Competencies: Report writing; communication (verbal and written); Planning, organizing and time management; Integrity and tenacity. Ability to systematically analyse problems. Identify key issues and draw logical conclusions.
