Position: Chief Engineer: Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management

Minimum Requirements:
- B Degree Electrical Engineering / B Tech Electrical Engineering or Equivalent relevant NQF Level 7
- 5 years' experience in similar environment and knowledge of municipal procedures, systems, infrastructure and legislation
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic support to the Divisional Head to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the Department to meet the objectives as per IDP, SDBIP, NERSA distribution license conditions and relevant legislation.
- Develop strategies, plans, by-laws, policies and procedures to ensure that CoE stays relevant regarding national and international stand on Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management initiatives.
- Represent CoE in the development of provincial and national policy and legislation in the area of Energy and Climate change.
- Compile and Manage the Energy Efficiency and Side Management budget to ensure efficient and effective financial management for the division.
- Deliver on the government’s commitment to service delivery and compliance to Batho Pele principles.
- Timeous implementation of Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management projects for the department to meet set targets and service delivery requirements in time.

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution.
