CHRIS HANI DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY
Chris Hani District Municipality is a Category C Municipality comprising of six local municipalities, Enoch Mgijima LM, Inxuba Yethemba LM, Dr AB. Xuma LM, Intsika Yethu LM, Emalahleni LM and Sakhisizwe LM situated in the Northern Eastern Part of the Eastern Cape Province. The Municipality is looking for the services of committed, suitably qualified, experienced, and highly motivated individuals to fill the following positions.
DIRECTOR: ENGINEERING SERVICES
TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE: NEGOTIABLE: POSITION TO BE BASED IN KOMANI
Minimum Requirements:
• Matric
• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering/ Bachelor’s Degree in Built Environment / BTech: Engineering or relevant qualification.
• A minimum of five (5) years to seven (7) experience of which five (5) years to be at senior management position.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid professional registration with Engineering Council of South Africa
• Attainment of required Minimum Competencies for Senior Managers in terms of Government Gazette No.29967 on Minimum Competencies will be an added advantage
Key Performance Areas (include but not limited to):
• Provide strategic direction on water and sanitation as the core function of the district.
• Develop a program for infrastructure service delivery within the municipal area in line with the IDP and oversee its implementation.
• Direct and lead the processes of Infrastructure Sector Plan and By Laws development.
• Responsible for the development, management and implementation of departmental budget, performance, and reporting
DIRECTOR: CORPORATE SERVICES
TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE: NEGOTIABLE: POSITION TO BE BASED IN KOMANI
Minimum requirements:
• Matric
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Administration or relevant qualification
• A minimum of five (5) years to seven (7) experience of which five (5) years to be at senior management position.
• Valid Driver’s License
• A post graduate qualification in the above field will be an added advantage.
• Attainment of required minimum competencies for Senior Managers in terms of Government Gazette No 29967 on Minimum Competencies will be an added advantage.
Key Performance Areas (include but not limited to):
• Direct overall development and implementation of key strategies to ensure effective functionality of the Directorate.
• Provide strategic direction on institutional Council Support, administration, integrated human resources management, integrated wellness, health and safety, ICT and fleet management functionality within the Municipality.
• Provide strategic guidance on procedures and processes related to the above-mentioned functions.
• Provide advisory function to the Council and its Structure on issues of compliance and implementation of resolutions.
• Direct and led the process of development and implementation of departmental programmes in line with the IDP and budget;

• A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification
• A least five (5) to seven (7) years relevant experience of which five (5) years to be at senior management level.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Attainment of required Minimum Competencies for Senior Managers in terms of Government Gazette No.29967 on Minimum Competencies will be an added advantage
Key Performance Areas (include but not limited to):
• Provide strategic direction to the organization in all aspects of strategic management.
• Manage overall development and co-ordination of an Integrated Strategic Planning Framework for the District Municipality
• Manages the development and implementation of the Service Delivery and Budget Implementation Plan
• Manage and direct the development, review and implementation of the Performance Management Framework within the Municipality.
• Manage functions related to the performance of the governance and transversal systems of the institution.
• Direct and manages legislative and executive function, intergovernmental relations, integrated communication, customer care, stakeholder management protocol and events.
Competencies Required for all the above positions:
• Critical competencies that drive the strategic intent and direction.
• Core competencies that drive the execution of critical competencies

• Qualification requirements have been amended to Grade 12 and Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration / Bachelor of Laws or relevant qualification and a closing date extended to the 16 September 2022.
