The Bushbuckridge Local Municipality seeks to appoint suitable people for the following permanent positions:

POSITION: ARTISAN ELECTRICIAN x2

BASIC SALARY: ENTRY R433, 057.44 PER ANNUM
Minimum Requirements
· Grade 12 Certificate.
· N2 in Electrical engineering
· Electrician trade test certificate
· One (1) -Two (2) years ‘relevant experience required
· A valid code 8 driver’s license.
· Interpersonal skills
· Ability to work under pressure
Key Performance Areas: Reporting to the Electrical Technician the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions
· Conduct routine inspection of the electrical faults in the treatment plants, pump stations and boreholes
· Install, maintain and repair electrical components to ensure that there is reliable operation of pumping stations, treatment plants, boreholes and distribution networks.
· Respond to power outages and emergencies callouts to restore services promptly.
· Identify and mitigate safety hazards and ensure all work complies with electrical codes and standards.
· Providing technical support services for electrical contractors.

· Ensure there is lighting in the treatment plants and pump stations

Key Performance Areas:
Reporting to Road Maintenance Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:
· Drive and control heavy equipment such Motor Graders, Backhoe Loader, Compactor truck and Bulldozers
· Completing log sheets, vehicles checklists and daily reports accurately.
· Perform daily safety checks/ preventative maintenance.
· Ensure safety regulations are strongly followed.
· Operating machines safely according to site plans.
· Prepares construction sites by moving debris, cleaning trees and grading earth to ensure a solid foundation.
· Maintain accurate logbooks of machine usage, fuel consumption, and service records.
· Operate machinery responsibly to minimize environmental impact (dust, noise, fuel efficiency).
· Adhere to occupational health and safety standards, ensuring safe operation of machines in public spaces.
· Perform road construction and maintenance, including grading gravel roads, clearing debris, and compacting surfaces.

Key Performance Areas: Reporting to the Artisan Electrician, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions
· Assist in maintaining and repairing electrical systems to ensure that there is reliable operation of pumping stations, treatment plants and water distribution networks
· Assist with routine inspection, identification of electrical faults, repairing or maintenance of electrical components.
· Assist with lighting in treatment plants and pump stations.
· Assist in preparing worksites by studying blueprints and schematics, gathering materials, and arranging tools.
· Assist with handling of tools, diagnose faults and ensure compliance with safety regulations
· Assist with site preparation such as drilling holes, pulling wire and trenching
· Assist in Identification and mitigation safety hazards and ensure all work complies with electrical codes and standards.

Minimum Requirements

Three-year Diploma /Degree in environmental management or equivalent.
Valid EB driver’s license
Minimum of Two (2)-Three (3) years’ experience within waste division
Key Performance Areas:
Reporting to the Waste Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:
· Overseeing domestic and commercial solid waste removal.
· Ensure that waste is collected at frequencies that prevent overflowing containers
· Assist in managing landfill sites or dumping sites, ensuring they comply with permit contracts and operational procedures.
· Assist managing waste infrastructure such as commercial skips, wheel bins and waste management fleet.
· Coordinate the safe disposal of contaminated hazardous or healthcare waste.
· Assist with the development, promotion, and implementation of solid waste disposal reduction strategies.
· Supervise the transportation of waste to ensure that it takes place efficiently without contaminating air, land, or water sources
· Investigate and follow up claims of the illegal dumping of waste and work with other waste regulation enforcement staff
· Monitor the quality and performance of waste services, including contract management of external providers
· Deal with enquiries and complaints from members of the public.
· Assist with the development of information and promotional materials
