Job Description

Job Purpose: Co-ordinates and controls the operations of the Section with respect to Waste Water Treatment plants within the whole Breede Valley Municipal area, Sewer Pump stations, Commonage and aerodrome  inclusive of monitoring and implementing procedures, establishing resource requirements, planning and scheduling maintenance programmes and evaluating outcomes, monitoring and attending to deviations in productivity and performance and attending to specific administrative and information reporting requirements and processes in order to ensure that work undertaken is completed in accordance with laid down specifications, quality standards and cost measures.

 

Duties: • Identifies the Division’s strategy with respect to service delivery and implements and monitors the short-term plans/ objectives for the Wastewater Treatment functionality • Plans, prioritises and schedules wastewater projects and maintenance and repair work • Implements procedures, systems and controls to regulate specific work sequences associated with the functionality• Coordinates and controls tasks/ activities associated with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline • Coordinate specific activities associated with monitoring the municipal commonage and roads • Coordinate specific activities associated with the maintenance of the Aerodrome• Performs specific tasks at pump stations • Monitors the capital and operating expenditure against the approved budget allocations • Performs specific administrative tasks/ activities associated with the updating and maintaining of records/ information related to the activities/ operations of the Wastewater Treatments Plants•  Adhere to health and safety regulations in terms of OHS Act.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma or N3 relevant to Water and Wastewater Treatment
  • Class V Process Controller Classification
  •  3 - 5 years relevant experience
  • Valid Code B Drivers license

Job Description

Job Purpose: To manage and coordinate the integration all Financial Systems within ICT, Human Resources, Document Management and Billing system. To ensure the provision, preservation and performance of ERP and other Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Data Systems in accordance with the relevant legislation, standard operating procedures and guidelines.

 

Duties: Draft short, medium- and long-term objectives and setting direction and executing accounting and administrative procedures and processes regarding the network, support and system development, forecasting, budget control and new technological development and submit to the immediate superior. • Ensure that the systems are functioning as intended and that the entire Municipality can maintain compliance with the MFMA requirements. • Manage the licensing of hardware and software according to the SLA with our division systems companies.  • Formulate and manage the annual budget for the Finance departments ICT needs and after approval control the budget for the section to ensure that equipment is purchased, and the budget’s not exceeded or unauthorized purchases are made. • Manage the financial systems in the directorate. • Plan monthly and year-end activities and processes. • Review the Systems Application and Financial Application System accounts register from subordinate and sign off. • Investigate, troubleshoots, and Resolve complex problems identified and or informed by user departments and subordinate. • Configuration of management reports to do extracts to promote data control and reporting. • Keep abreast of new technology by reading, using the internet, attend seminars, training courses and user groups. •Conduct presentations and provide written reports to the council and municipal officials on the status of the section and introduction of new technology and related matters. • Ensure timeous and correct payments and balancing of contracts and registers as well as budgetary control over the budget • Manage the preparation and compilation of statistical/statutory reports from the financial system and/or obtained from relevant internal departments. • Analyse expenditure trends, operating requirements, and strategic plans to establish and determine funding for specific financial period and providing input to the various budgets for the Section. • Exercise control over asset management and institute investigation into losses. • Manage the implementation and alignment of information systems, applications, work processes and role boundaries to support functional outcomes related to the Section and financial reporting in terms of legislative (MFMA etc.) and regulatory (MBRR, mSCOA, etc.) requirements. •   Manage and oversee contract implementation. •Adhere to Health and Safety procedures according to the OHS policy.

Job Description

Job Purpose: Coordinates the operations of the Worcester library Service and monitors the execution of procedural sequences/ requirements associated with aligning standards to meet customer objectives, attending to the acquisition, organization of information, interacting and providing users with information from various media, creating and environment conducive to learning through the arrangement of displays and signage of new library materials and attending to administrative reporting and record updating requirements of the various sections of the Worcester library in accordance with the relevant legislation and policies.

 

Duties: • Co-ordinates and controls the activities, procedures and outcomes associated with the provision of a comprehensive and professional information service to the community. • Co-ordinates and controls tasks/activities with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline. • Co-ordinates and executes specific procedural applications associated with the acquisition, organization and communication of information. • Co-ordinates the execution of services to meet user needs/requirements, ensuring satisfied customers. • Co-ordinates specific activities associated with promoting reader awareness and interests and providing information to users. • Co-ordinates the promotion of the library and its services, reading, literacy and lifelong learning; making the library attractive; extending services; and educating. • Co-ordinates the maintenance of the building, equipment stationery and consumables. • Executes the necessary administrative procedures. • Co-ordinates specific financial administration procedures.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Bibl / B.LIS / B.Tech: LIS / B. Inf (Hons) or PGDip LIS or equivalent 4-year post matric qualification;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Registered member of LIASA.
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence
  • Supervisory and management skills

Job Description

Job Purpose: To render a property transfer service to the council, execute all home-ownership transfers’ transactions of the council according to Council decisions and relevant legislation.

Job Description

Job Description

Job Purpose: Undertakes activities associated with maintaining the cleanliness of swimming pools and surrounding areas accordance with laid down instructions supporting acceptable standards of service delivery.

 

Duties: • Receiving verbal instructions from the caretaker on the work programme and/or maintenance and cleaning priorities related to specific facilities. • Cleaning, maintaining of swimming pools (vacuum, sweeping and brooming etc.) • Cutting/trimming lawns and verges using handheld machines (bush cutters, lawnmowers) and/ or tools (shears, lashers) for the clearing of overgrown shrubs. • Mopping floors and washing/disinfecting ablution units. • Replacing items (toilet rolls) and checking and reporting defective items to the caretaker for attention. • Mixing and using chemical detergents to remove stains/dirt from painted or ceramic surfaces. • Unblocking drains or ablution units using specific chemicals and cleaning rods to dislodge/breakdown debris/obstruction and checks functionality of systems. • Removing and replacing refuse bags from collection bins in public areas. • Promoting the swimming pools to visitors. • Undertakes specific activities with maintenance, cleaning and support. • Perform cleaning and store duties.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 8
  • 6 months relevant experience
  • Basic life skills
  • Machine operation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in at least 2 of the official languages in the Western Cape
