WORKSHOP ASSISTANT: CIVIL BRICKLAYING
Requirements
- Minimum NCV L4 Civil Engineering (Bricklaying) Qualification or Equivalent
- Minimum 1-year practical experience in Building & Construction Industry
- Good communication skills
- Computer Literacy (MS Office Package)
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Prepare the civil workshop for practical sessions
- Control and management of all equipment and consumable stock
- Practice good housekeeping and recordkeeping in the civil workshop
- Co-responsible for cleaning of the workshop and general administrative tasks
- Purchasing and management of stock for practical sessions/classes
- Assist the lecturer(s) during practical sessions
- Budget control
Recommendations
1. Multilingualism will be an advantage
2. Previous TVET sector experience will be an advantage
3. Experience in workshop management
4. Experience in a training environment
5. Basic knowledge of Level 1 First Aid
6. Basic knowledge of using chemicals
7. Health and Safety Measurements (OHS)

Remuneration
R 155 148.00 per annum plus benefits (Benefits include a thirteenth cheque. Membership of the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) is compulsory. Employees may also be eligible to receive a Homeowner’s housing allowance and the employer’s medical aid subsidy. Details regarding the fringe benefits are available on request. Permanent position is subject to 12 months’ probation.
