REPORTS TO: Regional Manager
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The role of the Territory Manager is to lead, manage and equip the Sales Representatives within the defined area, to implement and achieve specific trade marketing & distribution objectives in line with the Territory's Operational Plan within the defined geography.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Ensure that objectives in terms of availability, visibility, volume, quality including product freshness and customer price of products are achieved for the Area.
- Coordinate implementation of brand and trade programs in the Area, quickly reacting against competitive threats if necessary
- Ensure all in store execution targets within Area complies with Operational Plan
- Ensure the implementation of the communication plan within the Area and in line with cycle execution guidelines
- Manage, inform, develop, and motivate the Sales Representatives in order to deliver trade marketing and distribution activities that are superior to the competition in respect of both core and added value services
- Manage budget for trade programs for the territory
- Manage the productivity & cost optimization of the territory (trade spend effectiveness in the area) through the achievement of productivity targets (visits per day) and sales strike rates
- Improve all identified development areas, by achieving the signed off development plan with the Territory Manager
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Degree (preferably in Marketing/Sales) or Grade 12 with Qualification
- 3-5 years relevant experience with experience as well in a management position
- FMCG experience would represent a plus
- Data interpretation and analytical skills coupled with a high-level computer literacy and skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Good understanding of consumer segmentation, profitability, pricing, product ranging, utilization of research, space management and planograms.
- Leadership skills and ability of self-leadership
- Communication / Interpersonal skills: Communicates clearly, persuasively and is successful in influencing others.
- Leads by setting a personal example of excellence.

As the IT Portfolio Lead for Corporate Solutions, you will form part of the Sub-Saharan African IDT Leadership Team defining the technology and digital transformation for the region.
You will represent this intent in the Senior Area Corporate (Finance, LEX & HR) Leadership Teams through defining, challenging, and supporting the delivery of relevant technology solutions.
The delivery of these solutions is achieved through close collaboration between you, your team, the business functions and both global in-house and out-sourced technical teams.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Support the corporate functions (Finance, LEX & HR) to identify and craft opportunities, and working with architecture to translate to roadmaps for local / regional corporate solutions.
- Ensure the delivery of the underlying commercial outcomes in line with the strategic priorities proactively using technology as an enabler
- Establishing the contribution that technology can make to business objectives using a range of techniques such as eliciting and documenting requirements with partners, conducting feasibility studies, producing business models, preparing business cases, usability requirements analysis and usability evaluation.
- Being responsible for end-to-end implementation of solutions
- Coordinating internal and/or external resources to drive delivery of changes to existing corporate platforms, or for the identification, assessment, selection and deployment of new Corporate and Digital solutions and platforms.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, finance, or related field.
- Meaningful experience in defining business requirements (Business Analysis)
- Demonstrated Business Partnership capability in managing senior stakeholder.
- Business facing experience in Finance, LEX (Legal Corporate Relations), HR and IDT including practical involvement in Shared Services managed processes and solutions such as Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Service Management, Supply Chain Finance, Lead employee etc.
- Experience working as a part of, and ability to land, Global and Regional projects – extensive practical experience in projects such as Global ERP Implementation (e.g. SAP ECC) , Global HR Platforms (e.g. SuccessFactors), SOx, Global Functional and IT Transformation Programmes, Legal entity / business model changes, significant local LFR (Legal Fiscal Regulatory) projects
- Contribution to and landing of technology enabled optimization projects. Awareness of RPA, Mobile, user driven / self-service analytics tools, and collaboration solutions etc. is a plus.
- Good written and spoken English is must.
- Understanding and practical application of project management and System Software Development lifecycle methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile Frameworks, etc.) Certification would be a plus.
- Functional knowledge as BA on main BAT ERP platforms (e.g., SAP ECC, SAP HR, SuccessFactors) would be a plus
