Key Outputs

  • Expert technical support, investigations and reporting on resolutions of product issues in collaboration with
  • Service engineering, ensuring product health and delivering end user acceptance at lower cost.
  • Ensure improved product health for all products in area of responsibility.
  • Provide support for new product introduction.
  • Present product issues to management
  • Compile informative product issue reports and address to Service Engineering, Caterpillar and Management.
  • Provide expert technical support for Warranty resolution and one-hour training sessions.
  • Ensure effective self-management and performance ownership.
  • Ensure resolution of product issues according to Service Letter guidelines

 

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

  • Qualified Artisan. [Mechanic in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic)
  • Experience in Technical report writing
  • In depth understanding of the warranty process from start to end, including goodwill claims
  • Applied failure analysis (AFA) and scrap barrel training will be an advantage
  • Field Service and Technical analyst experience will be an advantage
  • Machine system operations and component experience
  • Demonstrated practical and theoretical training skills
  • Sound interpersonal relationship skills
  • Computer Literate (MS Office & SIS ET, appropriate SAP proficiency, SIS STW Flashnet)
  • Trouble shooting, problem solving and failure analysis skills
  • Applicable product knowledge
  • Familiar with the use of Service Technician Workbench
  • Business communication and presentation skills

SENIOR SECURITY SITE SUPERVISOR GLOBAL GRADE 11

 

Key Outputs

This position is responsible for the successful Site Management for the Security Department.

  • Supervise and lead all on-site Security Officers to ensure consistent performance and discipline.
  • Ensure timely relief of officers and proper shift handovers.
  • Maintain a professional and disciplined security presence at all times.
  • Ensure all officers are trained, understand their job descriptions, and comply with BWE SOPs and access control procedures.
  • Monitor adherence to standing orders and ensure all posts are manned and officers remain alert.
  • Record and report any short-posting incidents in the Occurrence Book (O/B), with or without replacements.
  • Take immediate control of any incident until formally handed over to Senior Manager: Security Operations.
  • Report all breaches, incidents, or occurrences that may impact the site within 24 hours.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date entries in the O/B.
  • Respond promptly to all alarms and security alerts on site.
  • Review CCTV footage as part of investigations when required.
  • Regularly test the responsiveness and effectiveness of armed response service providers.
  • Provide daily feedback and situational updates to Senior Manager: Security Operations.
  • Brief incoming officers on incidents, special instructions, and operational changes.
  • Submit daily postings and ensure monthly rosters are completed on time and site coverage is maintained.
  • Promote vigilance by ensuring guards are trained to identify and report suspicious activity or persons.
  • Continuously assess site vulnerabilities and recommend improvements to enhance security.
  • Ensure presentation of guards is professional and appropriate
  • Ensure that all Security officers are familiar with their relevant job descriptions and role
  • Ensure compliance with Barloworld Equipment access control procedures and SOPs
  • Take control in the event of any incident.
  • Ensure Security Officers always remain alert and perform their duties in accordance with standing orders and where Security Officers are short posted is recorded in the O/B whether a replacement is provided or not.
  • To brief oncoming Security Officers regarding any incidents or occurrences any special instructions given or recorded.
  • To ensure that all Security Officers remain at their post until individually relieved.
  • Ensure guards are always aware and report any suspicious activity or persons
  • Ensure that all new Security Officers are trained on site instructions and assess their performance
  • To notify Senior Manager: Security Operations within 24 hours of any breaches, incidents or occurrences which could affect anything or anyone on Site.
  • Ensure that the O/B is correctly maintained and all occurrences are recorded.
  • Attend any alarm on Site.
  • Test the effectiveness of armed response service providers
  • Review CCTV footage when investigation is required.
  • Ensure the monthly roster is done on time and that the Site is covered and send daily posting to the BWE Security Manager for Operations
  • Communicate and give feedback on situations to the Senior Manager: Security Operations on a daily basis.

 

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

 

Minimum Required Qualification

  • Matric and / Security management certificate or diploma
  • PSIRA Security Grading (A /B)
  • Experience in operational Site Management and guard management
  • A junior managerial course will be preferable.

 

Minimum Required Experience

  • Minimum of five to six years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • Proven track record Security Operations
