ABOUT THE JOB:
To provide independent, objective audit function in support to the organisation to accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Essential: BCom / B. Tech (Accounting or Auditing)

CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREA
The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;
  • Draft an Audit Project Planning memorandum (APM) to the auditee based on the approved Engagement Letter and in accordance with the audit plan and submit it to Senior Manager for approval. 
  • Prepare a Risk and Control Matrix (RACM). 
  • Plan and prioritise own activities in accordance to allocated hours. 
  • Prepare detailed risk-based audit program. 
  • Execute audit in accordance with risk-based audit program to establish the adequacy of the controls and the compliance thereof. 
  • Discuss findings with client below senior manager/divisional manager to validate the issues for factual verification purposes and to collect management’s action plans and comments. 
  • Prepare a detailed draft report addressing the findings, the root cause, effect and recommendations to rectify and submit to the Senior Auditor /Supervisor / Manager or Senior Manager (where necessary) for review. 
  • Incorporate Supervisor, Manager, or Senior Manager’s comments on the draft report. 
  • Provide the client with the draft report as well as the recommendations for the client to comment and indicate corrective actions. 
  • Conduct special audit investigations as and when required by the organization. 
  • Write progress and monthly reports to the Supervisor or Manager or Senior Manager. 
  • Provide consulting and advising service to internal stakeholders as and when required including participating in ad hoc management request and other special assignments as and when required. 
  • May supervise and mentor Junior Auditors

ABOUT THE JOB:
Responsible to ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting transactions and reporting thereof including supervising work of Senior Finance Officers and Finance Officers. Also responsible for compilation of Financial Statements.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • B.Com. Accounting with Completed Articles.
  • 5 to 8 years work experience in a Financial Reporting environment.
  • Experience with preparation of financial statements.
  • Practical experience in the analysis and evaluation of financial statements.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Preparation of financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance of financial transactions to GRAP and PFMA in order to achieve a clean audit report.
  • Support capital projects and other business improvement initiatives by providing business intelligence, financial analysis and (financial) functional inputs into planning & approval processes.
  • Execution of insurance related activities and timeous debtors collection
  • Supervise the Systems and Data Support functions and the maintenance of charts of accounts
  • Compile and/or review the monthly reconciliations prepared by Senior Finance Officers, including reconciliations of all bank accounts
  • Compile working papers for utilisation by the DOD and external auditors and assist with internal and external audit queries.
  • Review of monthly bank reconciliations and monitoring of investments to ensure optimal cash is available for operations
  • Approve the purchase/selling of foreign currency and financial payments.
  • Providing input on financial feasibility of special projects, ad hoc-inquiries, and related ad hoc-analyses.
  • Provide input into the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
  • Provide support and advice to internal clients with regard to the financial reporting process and queries on financial reports.
 
KNOWLEDGE & FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:
  • Sound knowledge of Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, Income Tax Act, Company’s Act, VAT Act, GRAP and IFRS.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Practical knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.

ABOUT THE JOB:
Senior Technical Officer holds the responsibility to ensure provision of a serviceable weapon system for testing and responsible for the execution of weapon operation.

  • Grade 12 – Technical

  • National Technical Certificate (at least NTC6) 
  • Maps & Navigation

CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREA
The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;
  • To ensure that the MOU and six monthly inspection are prepared according to client requirements. 
  • To ensure that the foreign client weapon systems are prepared for tests. 
  • Assist the weapon technician with first and second line repair tasks. 
  • Safe operation of infantry, artillery and armour weapon systems according to Alkantpan procedures and client’s Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to procedures. 
  • To ensure safety and security of all weapons. 
  • The preparation, release and operation of weapons according to test requirement. 
  • Supervise the preparation and maintenance of targets according to test requirements. 
  • Supervise the test team (technical officers) during the preparation, operation and after fire routine/mop-up of weapons and targets. 
  • Act as mentor for junior personnel (technical officers and assistants) 
  • Escort weapon systems during import and export to and from port of entry. 
  • Render any other related duties

CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREA
