Job Description
Supervisor Building and Facilities Maintenance 
An exciting vacancy exists at OR Tambo International Airport for Supervisor Building and Facilities Maintenance within the Operations Management division
 
Key Performance Output
The successful candidate reporting to the Assistant Manager Building and Facilities Maintenance, will be responsible for:
  • Manage Service Level Agreements (Maintenance and Supply).
  • Manage contractor procurement Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Shared Services (SSC) processes. 
  • Ensure compliance to relevant statutory and legislative regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), operational standards, policies and practices. 
  • Identify and report possible efficiency enhancements and initiatives to ensure resource savings. 
  • Provide relevant and specialized technical support in area of expertise to relevant stakeholders to ensure achievement of objectives. 
  • Ensure implementation of continuous improvement of equipment / infrastructure. 
  • Manage OPEX and CAPEX budget in relevant area. 
  • Provide input into the development of maintenance planning programme and execution thereof. 
  • Participate in failure investigation and root cause analysis. 
  • Provide input into business planning. 
 
Technical Skills and Experience
  • National Diploma Building Environment is essential
  • 1 - 3 years Building/ Cleaning Environment Operational experience is essential.
  • Code B: Motor vehicle license
  • Intermediate Computer Literacy: MS Office, eAM/ Oracle/ SAP PM

Job Description
Key Performance Output
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager Fire & Rescue and will be responsible for the following:
  • Ensure execution of pre-inspections of parking bays for safety compliance.
  • Coordinate and supervise marshalling process to ensure correct aircraft position.
  • Coordinate and supervise notifications to pilot when chocks are in place.
  • Ensure that clear, precise, and approved hand signals are used when docking aircrafts.
  • Management of automated docking system during parking process.
  • Notify Airport Operations of bay changes to ensure compliance of process.
  • Mitigate the number of aircrafts not marshalled.
  • Manage the serviceability of marshalling equipment and its allocation to marshallers.
  • Investigation of reported incidents and accidents and implement corrective action.
  • Identify and manage Company’s risk exposure through the effectiveness of AMS products and implement risk control measures to minimise the Company’s liability.
  • Adhere to and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies, and procedures. Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate and supervise subordinate activities to ensure efficiency and achievement of goals.
  • Assure stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive working environment.
  • Audit of ground handling Service Level Agreements performance targets.
  • Compile and submit Operational reports for Management reporting.
  • Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
  • Manage principles to ensure fair utilisation between airlines
 
Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
  • Higher Certificate in general Operations is essential
  • One year marshalling operational experience is essential.
  • Two years' general operations experience is essential.
  • Code B valid driver's license is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office.

  • Grant access to authorized persons entering the restricted area. 
  • Facilitate luggage and people into the screening point and ensure flow control in the prescribed manner. 
  • Screen all luggage and carry-on items to detect threat items. 
  • Screen all persons to detect threat items and ensure flow control. 
  • Perform physical screening on all identified baggage. 
  • Perform profiling of both bag and person, including random screening. 
  • Mandatory reporting of all incidents. 
  • Operate according to ICAO, NKP and SACAA and other relevant Legislation and all ACSA policies and procedures. 
  • Build and maintain sound internal and external stakeholder / customer relations whilst balancing enforcement with professionalism. 
  • Respond to all emergencies in the prescribed manner. 
 
Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: 
  • National Senior Certificate/Grade 12 is essential.
  • Relevant National Diploma/Degree (NQF 6) in Security/ Law/Risk/Compliance is recommended.
  • Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) registration is essential.
  • MS Office proficiency on a basic level
  • South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) Basic Aviation Security (AVSEC) Certification - advantageous but not essential.
