Job Description
Key Performance Outputs
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager Airport Operations Centre, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Provide a safe and secure environment and manage Security personnel.
- Develop Human Capital in line with relevant policies and procedures, including the Work Skills Plan.
- Manage entire recruitment process.
- Perform and ensure quarterly Performance Management System (PMS) assessments.
- Initiate disciplinary procedures through HR processes
- Compile and ensure compliance and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and inspect registers where applicable.
- Investigate and report all Security incidents/deficiencies, non-conformances and complaints at high level and implement remedial action.
- Provide input into Airport Security Program (ASP).
- Ensure compliance to ASQ and QMS targets.
- Identify and implement contingency plans to mitigate identified security risks.
- Implement remote site monitoring and ensure strict site monitoring culture among staff.
- Manage and coordinate all surveillance monitoring activities within the control room. Ensure adequate human and technical resources are maintained.
- Ensure timeous reporting, follow-up and feedback on all incidents and accidents.
- Ensure and operate according to ICAO, NKP and SACAA and other relevant Legislation and all ACSA policies and procedures.
- Ensure contract management in line with SLA where applicable (KSIA & ORTIA AVSEC).
- Manage Service Level Agreements (SLA) of service providers where applicable
- Attend to and assist with customer and stakeholder complaints and compliments, including escalated complaints and ensure remedial action.
- Collaborate with SAPS and local government agencies.
- Respond to all emergencies in the prescribed manner and ensure that the team is able to respond adequately.
- Manage budget within relevant area.
- Manage and coordinate risk and threat analyses and mitigate action plans.
- Manage the entire project process within relevant area.
Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
- Relevant Diploma NQF Level 6 is essential.
- Degree in Security/Law/Risk/Compliance is recommended.
- 4 years relevant operational experience is essential.
- 2 years relevant supervisory experience is essential.
- Accreditations with National Key Point is recommended
- Firearm Competency is recommended.
- Accreditations with South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) Dangerous Goods is recommended.
- Accreditations with South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) safe passage is recommended.
- Accreditations with South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) Basic Aviation Security (AVSEC) Certification is recommended.
- Registration with Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Grade A is recommended.

Key Performance Output
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Local Airport Manager and will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Facilitate and regulate capacity for each process and highlight any pressure points in terms of passenger and aircraft flow.
- Monitor and manage process and system efficiency within terminal operations (queuing and processing times) and recommend/implement remedial action where needed. Monitoring and approving the use of shared equipment, including gates, ticket counters, baggage carousels to ensure critical equipment and infrastructure is available during irregular activity.
- Provide view and make recommendations in terms of impact and availability of terminal infrastructure is available during irregular activity.
