Job Description
Key Performance Output
The successful candidate will be reporting to Group Executive Operations Management, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Participate in the overall Operations Management strategy formulation and take shared institutional responsibility for shaping and executing the ACSA Service Standards function.
- Drive innovation and translate innovation into integrated products and services for the group that will enhance the customer experience and commercial viability of ACSA and client enterprises.
- Provide alignment and integration with South African Tourism Services Associations and other relevant bodies in the servicing sector.
- Develop comprehensive customer experience management strategies and frameworks based on research and best practices.
- Develop guidelines, policies, procedures, and other related program content, to align with best practice and frameworks, and enable business operations to carry out and enhance programs
- Ensure effective and regular communication of new statutory regulations, organizational standards, policies and procedures to ensure full awareness amongst employees, external clients (passengers and cargo) and contractors
- Identify Best Practices in the field of client services & customer experience through the analysis of customers, competitors, and benchmark studies
- Define customer research parameters and frameworks to ensure the needs of all differentiated groups are met i.e., Business Travelers, Leisure, Families Assisted and Special needs passengers
- Identify and propose interventions and align with Airport RGMs, Clients, and other internal ACSA divisions

Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
- Bachelor’s Degree (4 years – 480 credits) NQF Level 8 Economics/Marketing/Communication is essential.
- Master’s degree NQF Level 9 is advantage
- 8 years operational industry experience in customer experience is essential.
- 4 years Senior management experience is essential.
- Microsoft Office at advanced level.
- Code B; Motor vehicle license is essential

Key Performance Output
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Senior Specialist: Aviation Safety and ARFF and will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Develop Strategies, Frameworks and Policies for Managing Aviation Safety & ARFF across the Organisation.
- Contribute to Defining the Standards for Reporting of Safety Incidents and Automate as far as Possible.
- Contribute to Defining the Standards for Regulatory Compliance for example SMS Systems and Documentation.
- Conduct Research on Best Practices and Identify Improvement to Safety and ARFF Initiatives.
- Manage Implementation and Continuous Improvement of the Safety and ARFF Management Solutions in Accordance with Aerodrome Requirements.
- Advice and Report to Management on Legal Requirements, Developments and Compliance in Respect of Safety, Health and Environmental Functions.
- Ensure Compliance to CAA requirements.
- Monitor Stakeholder Adherence and Commitment to all Safety and ARFF Policies, Procedures and Relevant Regulations.
- Support the Facilitation of Safety and ARFF Committees and Forums, as well as participating in Definition of the Standards for Reporting of Safety Incidents and Automate as far as possible.
- Manage quality of safety and ARFF information submitted to SACAA, ACI, ICAO and other bodies.
- Implement Safety and ARFF Inspections and Audits in line with the requirements for Safety Management System and ARFF Quality Operational Program in Accordance with ICAO, SACAA and Other Bodies.
- Manage Relevant Safety, ARFF and Environmental Information Required for Submission by the Operational Departments.
- Manage the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Process within the Airport Network for Safety and ARFF Functions in Compliance with Legislation and International Best Practices.
Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree (3 years – 360 credits) in Aviation Safety and/or Fire Fighting is Essential.
- 5 – 7 years relevant Operational experience in Aviation Safety and Fire is Essential.
- Code B driver’s license
- MS Office Advanced and CAD basic.

- Assist the communications manager to develop targeted communications strategies and implementation plans.
- Support in implementation of the targeted communications strategy across the business.
- Support in development of Airport Company South Africa brand strategy, policies and systems.
- Drive awareness of a clear corporate identity for Airports Company South Africa.
- Utilize industry best practices and familiarity with the organization's mission to inspire ideas and content.
- Support implementation and monitoring of public relations and marketing plans.
- Develop key messages to support the Digital Specialist in updating and maintenance of content on the corporate website.
- Contribute content for the production of annual reports, newsletters and other publications required to communicate ACSA’s service offerings end-to-end.
- Develop content for multiple platforms, such as websites, email marketing, product descriptions, videos, and blogs.
- Graphic design skills using Adobe creative suite or similar, to develop creative content (infographics, cartoons, posters, banners, comic strips, newsletters, pop-ups etc…)
- Quality Check content to ensure it is free of grammatical or factual errors and follows corporate brand manual protocols for consistency.
- Compile monthly, quarterly as well as ad-hoc reports to monitor progress, trends and media analytics.
- Adhere to and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures.
- Identify potential reputation and brand risks and make recommendations for remedial action.
- Manage relationships with various communications service providers in alignment with signed SLA’s.
- Develop processes and or procedures for the development and dissemination of ACSA approved content.
Technical Skills and Experience

- A Bachelor’s degree (3 years – 360 credits) NQF 7 in Communications/graphic design/Public Relations/Marketing is essential.
- 6 -7 years’ Strategic and operational in Communications is essential.
