Job description
ATNS is seeking an incumbent to provide an administration function and perform stores duties for the Technical Support Department.
 
Major Activities 

• Receive and correlate documents in order of priority
• Submit documents to MTS/STS for approval and action
• Maintain a filing system on all applicable Technical Support documentation
• Compose, type and distribute documentation
• Safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of documentation
• Handling queries
• Arrange meeting with internal and external stake holders and customers
• Taking, typing and distributing of minutes (Technical, ATS/TS, OHAS, ACSA etc.)
• Forward documents and parcels internally and externally (post, fax, courier)
• Co-ordinate MTS/STS’s activities
• Delegation of Authority when MTS/STS is out of office
• Maintain Technical archives
• Perform reception duties
• Liaise with ACSA on issues such as invoices, permit issuing, boardroom booking etc
• Assist in ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and the ATNS OHAS plan.
• Assist with arranging permits for staff and visitors
• Attendance Registers (weekly and monthly checks and calculation for claims)

The successful applicant will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. • To provide a strategic, operational leadership to ATS Capacity Planning team as well as the development, implementation, and management of an effective ATS - Capacity Planning strategy and policies aligned to the vision and overall business strategy of ATNS. • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the ATS licensing and optimization of resource utilization in accordance with the South African Civil Aviation Regulations and Technical Standards and the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s Standards and Recommended Practises. • Ensure that the training pipeline is delivered in line with Human Capital Strategy and the Permission. • Oversee the SSS facilities to ensure they are fully operational for disaster recovery and training purposes.
 
Job description

• Provides overall management to the Capacity Planning function to enable achievement of the Operations and overall business strategies aligned to the ATNS vision.
• Provide the Capacity Planning inputs and insights into the long-term Operations strategy.
• Develop, implement, and articulate the Capacity Planning strategy and value proposition to the Department aligned to the Operations and business strategies. 
• Support the COO and other thought leaders in the development, implementation and management of the Capacity Planning strategy aligned to the vision, culture, and business strategy of ATNS.
•  Lead the designing and implementation of the Capacity Planning function’s operating model along with the service level agreements. 
• Manage and own implementation of the Capacity Planning strategy post formulation to ensure achievement of the objectives.
• Drive delivery of the required projects/initiatives within the Capacity Planning strategy to be on time, within budget and to the required standard.
• Lead implementation of processes to collect feedback on how all the Capacity Planning aspects as per Capacity Planning strategy are being received in the business.
• Analyses trends and metrics in partnership with COO to develop the required solutions, programs, and policies aligned to the business needs strategies
• Gather and analyze relevant data, trends, and patterns and identify gaps and priorities, particularly in the key Operations products and services to enable efficient achievement of the ATNS strategy.
• Provide relevant policy guidance and interpretation, recommend, and implement changes as needed.

Minimum requirements
Required Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Air traffic control qualification (aerodrome control, or approach control, or area control)
•  Post graduate qualification in Business Management or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and managing air traffic management Operations or functions or managing air navigation services regulatory function of which at least 5 years must be at management level within a complex air traffic services / air traffic management environment / air navigation service regulatory function. 

 
Candidates who do not have postgraduate qualification, may apply, if they meet the following Alternative Qualification and experience:

• Air traffic control (aerodrome control, or approach control, or area control)
• Formal leadership training, or Management Development Program.  
• Minimum 10 years of experience in conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and managing air traffic management Operations or functions or managing air navigation services regulatory function of which at least 7 years must be at management level within a complex air traffic services / air traffic management environment / air navigation service regulatory function.

 
Note: A candidate appointed with alternative qualification must be prepared to undergo compulsory development (sponsored by ATNS) to achieve the required post graduate qualification within three years.

Overview
ATNS is seeking candidates to provide simulator support functions in the SSS domain.
 
Major Activities 

• Set up simulators in accordance with standard practice
• Attend pre-brief and de-brief with ATS Instructors and delegates
• Fly the exercises according to the objectives for the relevant exercises
• Manipulation of the simulator generated tracks via the available Air Traffic Management Display Simulator and Pilot Positions
• Comply with all OHAS and safety requirements applicable to the delivery and administration of training interventions
• Capturing, programming and testing of ICAO Flight Plan details into the simulator database to populate exercises for all training requirements within Air Traffic Services

• To monitor competency through proficiency assessments and audits to ensure compliance with the BEE and procurement policy.

• To establish and maintain an effective working relationship with suppliers as and when required, which will include site visits should it be required to do so.
• Negotiate SLAs and contracts with suppliers on behalf of ATNS and drive SLA/contract development processes in coordination with other stakeholders.
