The ARC-Vegetable, Industrial and Medicinal Plants (ARC– VIMP) seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and dynamic person to the following position at Roodeplaat (Pretoria):
FINANCE ASSISTANT
Key Performance Areas:
Compile and evaluate the performance report of each project,
Prepare financial reports and proof of income reports to the funder,
Ensure that audit queries attended to and resolve as soon as possible,
Preparation and posting of journals.
Prepare General ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis.
Manage all externally funded projects to avoid operational losses and report losses to the Institute Finance Manager,
Strong Excel skills essential,
Prepare and submit project budgets,
Ability to work in a team and independently,
Ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines,
Assist project managers with budget revisions,
Preferable knowledge of AX,
Invoicing external customers,
Follow up on outstanding debtors,
Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
Requirements:
Must have NQF Level 6 in Accounting/ Cost & Management Accounting/ Management Accounting or any relevant qualification,
Three years’ experience in Senior accounting role,
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written),
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

A 5-year post-qualification experience in Research and Development and 5 years in Senior Management or 10 years in the Middle Management level.
