Key Performance Areas:
General switchboard management and administration.
Provides courteous service to visitors, and employees by operating the switchboard according to set standards.
Answering, screening and forwarding calls in a timeous and professional manner.
Taking and relaying of messages and referring inquiries.
Receiving visitors and deliveries.
Handle access control.

RESEARCHER -VETERINARIAN
Key Performance Areas:
The incumbent will be involved in research activities on various viral diseases. Research work will focus on but is not limited to the development of improved vaccines and diagnostic assays.
Perform veterinary duties in VDD such as animal care for animal ethics, clinical veterinary care of animals, DAFF section 20 veterinary requirements, supervision of personnel authorized by SAVC, training of animal attendants, assist principle investigators with animal trials, and be responsible for veterinary diagnostics within the unit.
Assist with research in the field of vaccine development, including helping with writing research grants, laboratory and field work, reporting and financial control.
Train and transfer knowledge to students, field veterinary officials and farmers.
Contribute and offer assistance to research projects within the division. Be willing to work on a weekend rotational basis to perform veterinary duties when necessary.

BVSc/BVMCh/BVM (Veterinary degree).

Compile accurate reports related to the division for management.
Prepare ad-hoc reports for management or other stakeholders.
Prepare meeting agendas and take minutes within the division.
Filing of minutes and archiving of security documents for future reference.

Requirements:
B degree in Security Risk Management/Policing/Forensic or related field
PSIRA Grade A-or the ability to acquire professional accreditation within 6 months.
A valid Code B driver’s licence.
Vetting Course will be an added advantage.
Five (5) years’ experience in the security breach investigation and physical security operations.
Must have the skill and ability to conduct and/or support sensitive investigations involving personnel, assets and/or proprietary information.
Experience in vetting fieldwork and pre-employment screening will be advantageous.

Reporting directly to the Research Team Manager Crop Protection, this position requires a hard-working scientist and a self-starter to conduct research on tropical and subtropical fruit crops in the field of Plant Pathology.
Initiate/manage research on subtropical fruit diseases.
Write publications/present research outcomes of relevance to subtropical fruit growers, industries and the scientific community.
Provide leadership and mentoring to research technicians, assistance and students.
Evaluate control programmes for diseases of subtropical crops and develop improved alternatives.
